I saw the ad on craigslist and inquired about the house and received an email to fill out rent app. I sent an email back to sender and then received an email back saying I was approved to be the new tenant. They asked me to send $750 deposit in return for keys to be sent via fed ex. I googled the number and came upon this site. This definately sounds like a scam to me, I would never send money without evening viewing the place 1st.

I inquired about a home listed for rent on Trulia and received a very strange email from a Mr. Moran asking me to fill out the rental application which was sent in an email message.  After calling a Realtor, they informed me that the property i saw was indeed not for rent but for sale.  They told me they have had a lot of problems with this person lately stealing their postings and scamming people to send them money for the keys to the house.  Please beware if you are looking to rent or buy a home.

Yes scam, they sent me a generic message asking for a lot of information. They said i would be a perfect fit for the home, when i had said nothing about myself...

CRAIGSLIST SCAM, this number definitely seems to be used by a craigslist scammer.  He wanted us to send $200 just so he could send the keys and documents to a house to us.  When I said we wouldn't pay $200 just to look inside a home, he asked how much we were willing to pay, and tried to assure us that it was a legit shipping fee.  We are looking for a place to rent and put out a craigslist ad, got an email about this house, called this number, got a connection message like with a collect call, guy with a foreign accent answered, weird scrambling noises in the background the whole time.  SCAM.
