It's an automatic call from Chris Angel's Mind Freak site after you try to "freak out" your friend by using their telephone number in a trick. I received a Voicemail that was just static.

i was watching t.v when the phone rand and i didnt know who the number was so i didnt bother answering it . but then the answer machine went on and it said .. Amanda Amanda,, i can read you mind,, your friend help me to find you but thats not how i work,, watch me at A&E @ blah, blah , blah.,, i was freaked out but when i called the number back it said it was no longer in service,, i then searched google and found out you can go on a site and " freak your freinds " now i know it was just a prank...

Yeah, I got a call to when I did that Mind Freak on the internet. And I called them back it says, 411 Virgin Mobile, and I still got charged even when I hanged up the phone right away.

I just answered that number and I got so freaked out! I did that video thing where he figures out your cell number and I was so freaked out!

I know where it is from. If you go to Criss Angel's A&E website http://www.aetv.com/criss_angel/ and you go to "freak your friends", there is a place where you can put in your friends name and their phone number and then you email them a special link. When they get the link, it takes them to a video of Criss Angel "freaking their mind" and it rattles off their name and he pulls cards out of a deck in the sequence of the phone number that was entered on the site. At the end of it he says "keep your phone handy" or something like that. Then within a couple of minutes, your phone rings with the static and windy sound. The number that came up on our caller ID was the 415-555-5555 and the name on the ID said "CALIFORNIA". The only reason I found your number was because I googled the number after the call just to see if it linked to any business name, etc, just for curiousity.

So, somebody must have entered your phone number as the number (obviously in error, because you hadn't received the email, etc). That is why you got the call.

Yeah i did this thing online and it was Chris Angel from the show Mind Freak...he guesses your phone # and tells you to keep you phone handy.

From Chris Angel's Mind Freak - like everyone else said. Just static. I rushed all over the house looking for my cell phone just for that. Not too happy about it.

Gretchen is right ... some dumb 'trick' that a 'friend' of your sent from a 'dumb' website. And I won't tell the website, cuz we don't want this dumb thing to continue ... Thanks World

Thsi smells like a telemarketer calling my cell phone.

i was in the pool when my phone was ringing.my friend went to answer it.my friend told me that it was some guy saying april april i can read your mind.and then he told me that the caller said it was chris angel.i didnt know who he was so i told him oh well i dont know him and i just hung up the phone.then my friend explained to me who he really was.so i called back and a recording came on saying that this number was no longer in service

I received a call right after I watched this blog from Chris Angel that I was sent by a friend. I think they give him your number on the website (which pops up after u see the blog) and then your number is called after u 'participate' in a 'mindfreak' where he reads your mind and guesses your number.

I answered, and it was a recording, saying this is Chris Angel the mind freak, join us on A&E at such and such time.  I dont remember all that it said, but also said to press 1 to continue, so I hung up.  Well, I called the number back, and it was AT&T 411 information. I hope this may help someone.

Its a telemarketer...

I received a call from this number but no one was on the line. When I called it back, my cell phone said the number was in San Fransisco, CA, but immediately after pressing talk a recorded voice came on the phone and said "Welcome to Sprint 411". Obviously I hung up and did not use the service. Now I'm being charged for a Directory Assistance call to Sprint. It just seems like another scam by Sprint to get more money out of their customers. I'm am on hold to dispute the charge as I write this. I hate Sprint!

I did not answer a call from 415-555-5555. I do not know who is using it but it definitely not from any of my friends or relatives. Probably it is a telemarketer.
