Not just this phone # there are others. If it's a phone # that is not local to your are do not make any deals. Ask if they could send a western union check. Then see what happens. That or cash.
Cash is best when selling on Craig's List :)

She's working dallas ft worth craigslist. Funny how it's only items for a few hundred dollars she targets. These low lifes should pay for preying on people. Beware of all of these scammers. This was a text!

Got a response for something I posted on Craigslist. They asked if I do PayPal. I said no but I can research it and if I feel comfortable about it I will let them know after. They responded with \"kindly sign up for a PayPal account at www.paypal.com. its just a few steps away from signing up ok? Its safe and secure for both parties and I have been using PayPal yo buy and sell for years now without problems. Let me know when you are done signing up.\" And that prompted me to look the numbet up. Yuck!

First and foremost, thank you to the above people who have posted. Had it not been for your posts I too might of been scammed.
I was contacted via text by an individual identifying themselves as "Jessica". I too posted a bedroom set on Craigslist for sale. Subject sounded legit and requested I set up a PayPal account. Something didn't feel right, so I contacted PayPal. The PayPal specialist was very helpful and provided me with tips to help me avoid being scammed. One thing they advised was for me to obtain an email address from "Jessica" and that PayPal would verify for me if the e-mail account provided to me was indeed active. Well, it didn't get that far. I asked "Jessica for his/her e-mail address and after a while they provided perezcesar5@yahoo.com. I contacted PayPal with the e-mail information and they too believe that it is a scam and suggested for me to refrain from further contact with "Jessica as to avoid any future headaches. I hope this post helps someone as the above posts helped me.

I too received an text from someone named Jessica. At first I was going to say yes, I have a pay pal account, when asked. Then thought better, and told her no. She then asked me to set up an account and get back to her. Yea right!!! Told her I know this is a scam & no thanks!!!!!! Didn't get anymore texts from her. SELLERS AND BUYERS BEWARE! The Item I was selling was posted on Craigslist.

Here is how the "PayPal Scam" works:
Says they will buy the item and will pay extra to cover charges by his shipping agent.
Says he will PayPal the funds and instruct you to send the extra money via wire transfer or pre-paid card to the agent.
He then sends you a fake PayPal deposit notice email, spoofing the official PayPal notice, that says the money has been put into your account.
You, thinking PayPal has your money, go ahead with the wire/prepaid transfer to the shipping agent, who is really the scammer.
After that, you then find out there was no money transferred to PayPal and are out the money your wired.

I just received a text from "Jessica" but at this number 281-747-6182. Things felt weird so I goodled the email given rlaker006@gmail.com and came up with this site. It seems that the 775-629-2157 and the 281-747-6182 must be connected, as they are both claiming to be "Jessica". I was selling a $650 piece of furniture. She asked me to send an invoice via Pay Pal, which I did. I was okay with the idea of Pay Pal but then they wanted to take an additional $400 for their shipping company. I said I didn't feel comfortable with this. I cancelled the invoice via Pay Pal and feel like I dogged a bullet. I don't know how people scam through Pay Pal but it makes me feel nervous. So I'd rather not do it.
