This is a fraud campaign currently active in Canada using a series of Iristel VOIP numbers. The objective is to obtain your credit card number and drain your account.
If you attempt to "opt out" your number will be confirmed as live and added to a suckers list for repeated future calls.

Got a call from this number earlier today. Disconnected as soon as I picked up. We are also on a DNC list. I am guessing they are from Pakistan, just saw a W5 story about this very problem. Apparently they are trained to just hang up on you when you express your displeasure.

Just recieved a call from these guys. I didn't answer but phoned the number back to tell them to take my name off the list. A man with a very heavy accent answered. I asked him why he is calling my number when I am on the DNC list and he hung up on me. Called it right back again and another man with a very strong, what sounded like indian accent , answered the phone, i asked him the same question again and he swore at me saying " no reason to be an ignorant B***H.". I told himn I wanted to talk to his supervisor and he also hung up on me.
They are a telelmarkers that call themselves WCA, ( that's what the recording said when i called back a third time ) and start a spiel thanking you for answering thier internet survey and you have won a prize.
From the very strong accents I got from both men I talked to I suspect these calls are originating from India or somewhere else over seas.
In any case if you tell them to take your name off the list because you are on the DNC list they just hang up on you.

Unfortunately, this trick takes advantage of a loophole in the DNC law. Marketing surveys, calls on behalf of charities and calls from political organizations among others are all exempt. Many telemarketers will use a fake survey to pitch their product to you. If their is anything they want you to do after the "survey" that involves a purchase, you can report them to the FTC.

The number apparently belongs to "Iristel Inc." a survey Company based in Niagara on the Lake who wants to give you a FREE prize....I truely HATE these calls especially when i'm on the NO CALL LIST!
I don't do Market Surveys.....Because I don't get PAID to do them! : )
