One of my cell phones makes random calls supposedly out to this number constantly, but I'm not calling it.
What's going on and how do I stop this?

I keep receiving phone calls from 289-809-3564.  Who is this?  Are they scammers?  How can I get them to stop calling?  Can you help?  Very Frustrating!  They won't leave a message or say a name.

A rough-spoken man called and said it was a call from WINDOWS and that they had been aware I had signalled problems with my computer (which was true, having had the screen frozen several times a day, lately). It sounded true to the facts. He (introducing himself as Jack Dawson) guided me to the LogMeIn Rescue service, where his technician (name on the screen Colin Thomas) rolled my computer files, 3 of which signalled "corrupted" . He urged me to buy some security software (giving me prices for 1, 2, or 3 yrs - $119.00 - $299.00), or my computer would crash. He sounded frustrated that I wouldn't make the purchase on the spot. I asked him to e-mail me the info first and give me a phone number for me to call back if I so decided. He gave me another name (the receptionist's) - James Watson - and the phone number 403 648 9010. He sounded totally upset I wouldn't understand the urgency of the matter, as to buy the software on the spot.

It's a recorded message from some scammer company concerning eliminating your credit card debt.

This number just called me, did reconized the number so I didn't answer, guess having an unlisted number doesn't help ...

Called me at 10pm on a thursday. what the hell.

Hung up would not leave a message. Or name on display.

I started answering the phone and let it sit for a minute or two, no talking, just listen. This number came up and I did just that. It's a scam to reduce credit card debt. It prompts you to press 3 at the end to remove your phone number.

If you press 3 after the message, it says your number has been removed.  They called like 5
times in the last month.  Finally just listened and heard to press 3 to decline.

I just got a call from them.  I didn't pick up though.  My answering machine did.  Of course, all that was recorded was dead air.

Do not answer these calls. There is no bank stress test act that can reduce your debt. This is an obvious scam. I do not answer any number that I don't know. I receive tons of calls from all over Canada and the U.S.A. To me, these call are obviously telemarketers or scammers trying to get info on you. Do not reply or give your info to anyone without verifying first just exactly who you are talking to. Be safe and beware!

I am on the Do Not Call list so I wonder why they are calling.

This number is a telemarketer - they left message regarding lowering credit rate.  I also have to ask how do they get my number?????  Thank heavens for call display and google...........lol.

I'm not sure who called from it but it did ring @ my place. I wasn't home and it left no message so I'm going to assume the worst...telemarketer. Ugh. [I know that's not 'the' worst but it's pretty sucky!] They called my place about 5 or 6 hours ago. I am thinking it's in connection with this other telemarketing company: 1 800 315 7808. That company has been trying to nab me every day for aprox. 2 weeks. It called moments after this one called which was precluded by another call that had no number attached. Soooo is it a conspiracy to get me to pick up my telephone? duh dun daaahn...who knows?? I just wish it would stop!!

Wondering who this is always calling never any messages left, get different calls from all kinds of numbers wonder how they get the numbers and if the phone company can put a stop to it
