Take the check to the bank. Have the bank inspect the check. DO NOT! DO NOT! deposit the check. All you have to do is contact the sender & tell them the bank is examining the check, & you won't deposit it until they do. The job offer you received is a well known scam. It's usually (a) Mystery Shopper (b) Personal Assistant. It involves you depositing the check, then you will be asked to forward money by wire transfer. (Western Union, GreenDot, MoneyGram, etc.) That's the scam. You send cash - you have a bounced check.

Marcus Steeles told me he was opening an office in the Ft. Worth, Tx area. He wanted me to be his personal assistant to open up the business there. He offered a to good to be true salary with wonderful benefit package. He offered to pay my relocation fees for the move to Ft Worth. I have never felt more betrayed by anyone like this a--hole. Beware of this company Avct Consult stating they are an IT Company trying to relocate to the Texas area.
