You are 100% Correct.   If you read my message , call your phone company and they will guide you on how to BLOCK them for good. Be Safe not Stupid . If you have a gut feeling follow it .

Sunday afternoon , I get this call I looked an it was from an unknown number. I let my machine answer it.
They say I need to go to there webpage customeralert.com and enter a long number. I have been watching & reading all about these scams going on right now and do not trust them.
So you know you can BLOCK them by using your phone service. All you need to do is contact them and they will give you directions.  DO NOT TRUST ANYONE.
Then I get this I want to be your friend on Facebook from a guy calling himself " Hatem Driff" profession
a HIT MAN. make sure you go to your account setting's under Security and BLOCK HIM.
Then there is the MILITARY DATING SCAM , Another one I received from some guy who claimed he was in KABUL. This has all happened in 1 week.
Please DO NOT REPLY AND USE ALL THE SECURITY SETTINGS YOU HAVE. THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE THERE FOR. Be safe my friend's .

301-223-0033, "unknown name", computerized woman's voice, I did not answer it as I do not answer any calls with "name unknown", call went to voice mail, I called my voice mail and only heard two words (which I did not take note of but will next time) and then I deleted the call

At dinner time, got call. I called the number they gave and told a Mr. Hosea Rodrigus that the number they called was new to me three months ago. He assured that my number would be removed from the list.  I've had similar calls and similar promises before. Still the calls keep coming.

301-223-0033 is definitely a collection agency.  Their tactic of leaving a message with a personal file number for accessing their website - certifiednotice.com - is possibly ILLEGAL in several states because it could allow someone legally in your house (a babysitter, cleaning person, in-law, etc) the information they need to access your account

I received a call with a file number to enter, then it says look up a piece of mail they supposedly sent. I believe their tactic of entering the code number and telling you immediate 'if you are having difficulty, to do x or y' is a ploy.

They captured the 'code' on the first go and that verified you.

I use caller ID to screen calls if it says unknown name or unknown number I won't answer because all of them it seems are trying to sell me s**t of some type or home based business stuff

Collection Agency

I've gotten several calls from this place in the last couple of weeks.  Shows up as Certified notice on caller id I haven't answered any calls.

it's probably a stinkin collection place. can't get blood out of a turnip.

This number called me Sunday at dinner time.  It was a call for someone who must have had this number previously.  The recording said the call was from Certified Notice and tht if the party they were calling is not at this number, call 800-708-6019 and the calls would stop.  We will see.

I have no reason to have a collection agency calling me but these people say my name so somehow they've gotten information about me.  I keep calling them back and not say anything until they hang up to piss them off.  Soon I'm going to start calling their mother nasty names - that usually pisses them off big time!

I get the same crap and have already called this company several times asking them to remove my number from the gentleman's case they are trying to contact.  I get the same empty promises - "we'll take care of it."  Not sure what my next course of action should be.

So i been have been receiving calls from 1800-870-1000 saying that i owed them money and directed me to www.customerservicealert.com with a claim number. From reading all the comments, I feel like this is a fraud. Am i correct?

Dear Sirs,  I have been receiving several calls over the past year from:  (866) 945-4974.  It is from a collection agency.  All the calls state is that if this call is not for me, please ignore the call.  I finally went online to see if it was for me, however, it is for another person a male named, I think, Troy .....  Anyway, even though it is "not" for me, they keep calling all the time.  I  would like them to stop calling my number which is:  719-431-0510.  They evidently have the wrong number.

I have received 2 calls from this source, both with same "ID" number and website address.  They are scams and I am tired of hearing from them.  Isn't there anything that can be done to put a stop to this?

Keep receiving calls stating it is for someone named "Julio".A website is given of www.registerednotice.com as well as a phone number 1-877-289-0281. I am not the person asked for and want these calls stopped.

Calling from morning till nite every day of the week. Where is their morals and when is carma gonna catch up to them. They say they are only doing their job...I beg to differ with them. As American's they should try to help solve the countries problems not add to them. If they would put their energy to good and not ugly maybe God would make them happier. Cause you know misery likes company...I'm sorry they are miserable but praying they can be forgiven for their ugliness. Thank you for providing the phone number. I have been receiving these calls as well. I haven't been able to access the website, so I called this phone number which you provided. A male 'representative' answered within a minute or so, took my file #, then put me on hold to 'talk with who I needed to talk with'. I waited almost ten minutes, then hung up. I hit redial, and this time a young woman answered, and asked for my file number. I told her before I gave her the file number, that I wanted to know what this call was about, because I wasn't going to sit around on hold for another 10 minutes. She took my phone number, and gave me a direct number to call. As it turns out, I was told by a recorded voice to call back during their regular business hours. I still don't know what the hell this is about.

Recorded message telling me to go to this website and use a file # to receive a message said they were a collection agency,trying to collect a debt.

3 calls in one week. To be honest, I don't have any bills in my name, since I just graduated out of high school. So I'm really confused... I tried calling the number back but an automated system answered, no way to contact a company representative. And there's no way I'm giving them my contact/personal info over the internet.

A pre-recorded message states that this is a collection agency;  you are given a website address and an account number.
