The call is from Automotive Training Institute (ATI). They are trying to get you to attend a class. Here's the catch. You or your business pay for the class up front. The class runs from 2pm-9pm. They feed you dinner. Once the class is over, the instructor will visit your business and try to get you to sign up with them. They claim they will double your business profits within a year. if they don't then you won't pay them anything. The cost is around $50,000 after everything is said and done if you sign up. If you do not sign up, you can send in a paper showing you attended the class, and you will be refunded your money for just going to the meeting. I attended one of these meetings, and you will watch a video from the founder C.L "Chubby" Frederick. Then the instructor asks questions. He gives out a "BS" rag to one person in the room, and anytime you or someone else thinks that what he is saying is "BS," you can throw the rag at him. They discuss profitability margins and labor margins. I had to admit I did learn some things in the class, but overall, I would not spend the money.
Once you have taken one class, they will keep calling when another one is in the area. I have already told them we are not interested in attending anymore seminars, but they keep calling back
