They call telling you that your computer has viruses and that you should download a program that will allow them to remove such viruses. If you have more than two or three problems on the computer, they will charge you $299. When you call the number back, it states to check the number and try again.

It is a scam. I have been getting calls from different area codes, but the exchange of "555" is always the same. Don't answer or call back. If you do call it back, you need to look at your phone bill when it comes in. Calling back is what they want you to do because it incurs charges on your phone bill and these scammers can't be traced. If you have the ability to block these calls, do it.

Some sort of a recorded message.  Sounded like really bad reception and I could not understand a word of it.  Listed as a Maryland call  but when I called it back the recording stated that the call could only be made from a landline? Weird since they called my cell phone.

I missed the call because I didn't pick up. If I don't recognize number nor caller ID, I don't pick up. If important, caller could've left a message but didn't.
