7 Months this number has plagued our new home.  We don't want their services Refi mortgage and Financeial advise.  As if I would take advice from some guy who barely speaks english.  I did however pretend to be elderly and that is when the sales pitch went into overdrive, these people are praying onm the elderly as well as the financially clueless.  We have asked to no longer have them call but here we are with more calls.  Is there nothong we can do

Just received a call with CALLERID of 301-620-9628 Alexandria VA,
as of Thursday 2/7/2008 4:13pm.

Since I didn't recognize I let it roll over to the answering machine, but no message left.  I will wait for next call, pick up, and then report back to you.

Received two call from this number, so far.  One at 7:00pm 2/7/08 and now
one on 2/8/08 at noon.  They certainly have a thick accent...can't understand anything he/she were saying.  Wouldn't leave a message on the answering machine; don't intend on answering any more of their calls.  Hopefully, they'll stop calling.  Just went through this on my cell phone with another number.  Is there no end to this!?!

Called and left no message at 8:33pm.  We are on the do not call list.

Some guy with a thick accent called again.  Third time in a week.  I told him I was on the Do-Not-Call list the first time.

Have been receiving calls from United Finance Company for over 4 years.  They ask for the previous owner of our phone number. We have asked them to stop calling, but they won't.  We've cursed them-they call back.  We've asked for a number to call them back and it is bogus.  Tried to have the phone company trace and they said it is coming from overseas.  The phone company offered us a new number, but we don't want to switch and get stuck with another one of these people.  If anyone finds out who this is I want to sue.

15 calls over 7 day period.  Asks for my wife.  Hangs up if she is not there.  Asked if we have any relationship man (indian accent) says no.  I say we are on do not call list, they still call back usually in about an hour.  I filed a complaint with do not call registry.  Still calling several times per day, waking up kids, etc.  Any advice?

This company has been calling my house for months.  Usually they just sit on the line and don't say anything.  I did however pretend to be an elderly person and all of a sudden they atarted talking.  I am on the do not call list and no longer want this number to call. Ever again.

Recived call from 301-620-9628 1.19.08 @ 02:54pm; did not answer. This is the first call I've received from this number.  

Googled and got here... tried to call the number back and also got error message saying it's disconnected.

What is really going on?  How is it possible for this number to call out yet Verizon is listing this telephone number as being "Disconnect"?

we have been getting calls from this phone number at least twice a day for past few days, even after repeatedly asking the person "NOT TO CALL AGAIN" and asked to be placed on the do not call list.

Got two calls today from this same number.  I just got phone service on 12-30-2007 and have not given this number out to any companies; only my immediate family has this number.  I use alternate cell phone for business and miscellaneous calls; I dialed *67 and their number, and got the details that this number is no longer in service.  I automatically sign up for do not call lists; it takes about 31 days to take effect.  However, after this, if any one calls with the few exceptions, the Commonwealth of VA gives its residents recourse through the court system.  May be just threatening this may do the trick.  I am keeping track of these.

Caller ID shows this number has called 4 times recently:  12/18/07,  12/20/07, 1/2/08 and 1/3/08.  Hangs up on voicemail, without leaving message.  Also got  "this number is not in service" message when tried to call back.  We're also on the Do-Not-Call list.

this # came up on the caller Id rand 2 times and then hung up when I went to return to the call it says the $ is outta service.  However we do get a lot of calls from mortage people as the other comments say so this may  be there #

Caller asked for my husband then hung up when I said he was not available.  When I called the number on my caller ID, I got a message that this number was not in service.

I have recieved two phone calls from this number in the past week.  After the first call, I asked to be placed on the do not call list, but they called again just over a week later.  What recourse do I have?

Received 2 calls this evening from this number.  First call we did not answer because we didn't recognize the number.  Second call was about 45 minutes later and I answered it to try to make them stop calling.  I said Hello and got no response.

This man keeps calling and asking for someone that has no access to my phone. When I asked how he had gotten the number he said it was given to him by my husband.

Someone from this number called our house as well with a thick Indian Accent from phone number 301-620-9628. Hangs up when you tell him the person he is asking for is not available. Keeps calling back. Please direct the person calling NOT TO CALL BACK otherwise they keep calling.

Someone from this number called, did not leave a message and when I attempted to call back, a message said the number was not valid.

Gentleman with thick accent identified himself as from "United Finance Company" and asked about my mortgage.  This is one of many calls I get using old public mortgage records to try and sell me a refi.  (Apparently, the former owner of my phone # has this number listed on a public mortgage and refinance companies pull the phone # to cold call.)
