Same thing, a man with foreign accent called & left message to call him back regarding ongoing investigation.  He said it was regarding meds I had ordered online and they were going to prosecute me and I should hire an attorney.  Told him I have no money for an attorney so he said they were sending paperwork to my local authorities and they will arrest me within a couple of hours. I hope this is just a bad joke.

Prank Call
Received a call today from Special Agent (gruffy voice hard to understand)  with the DEA, he said he has some questions about an ongoing investigation.  If I don't call him back he said he will issue a search warrant and an arrest warrant against me.  These people are so pathetic.  I wish there was something that could be done to catch them.  I just hope an pray that nobody truly falls for this. Please post on all social media sites to get the word out.  THIS IS SCAM!!!

ALERT - EXTORTION SCAM - ALERT
DEA Warns Public of Extortion Scam by
DEA Special Agent Impersonators
The Drug Enforcement Administration is warning the public about criminals posing as DEA special agents or other law enforcement personnel as part of an international extortion scheme.

The criminals call the victims (who in most cases previously purchased drugs over the lnternet or by telephone) and identify themselves as DEA agents or law enforcement officials from other agencies.  The impersonators inform their victims that purchasing drugs over the lnternet or by telephone is illegal, and that enforcement action will be taken against them unless they pay a fine.  In most cases, the impersonators instruct their victims to pay the "fine" via wire transfer to a designated location, usually overseas.  If victims refuse to send money, the impersonators often threaten to arrest them or search their property.  Some victims who purchased their drugs using a credit card also reported fraudulent use of their credit cards.

Impersonating a federal agent is a violation of federal law.  The public should be aware that no DEA agent will ever contact members of the public by telephone to demand money or any other form of payment.

The DEA reminds the public to use caution when purchasing controlled substance pharmaceuticals by telephone or through the Internet.  It is illegal to purchase controlled substance pharmaceuticals online or by telephone unless very stringent requirements are met.  And, all pharmacies that dispense controlled substance pharmaceuticals by means of the lnternet must be registered with DEA.  By ordering any pharmaceutical medications online or by telephone from unknown entities, members of the public risk receiving unsafe, counterfeit, and/or ineffective drugs from criminals who operate outside the law.  In addition, personal and financial information could be compromised.

Anyone receiving a telephone call from a person purporting to be a DEA special agent or other law enforcement official seeking money should refuse the demand and report the threat.

Same number called me today. Very peculiar. It was a garbled message, but the callback phone number was repeated twice so I wrote it down, then searched it and the name was different than the garbled name the caller identified himself as, not even close, though I couldn't make out entirely what it was, it had many more syllables than the phone owner's name had. The caller had an unusual accent and either a terrible phone connection or a speech impediment, there's no way the DEA would put a guy sounding like that on the phone to the public. And any official business would be handled with more discretion, i.e., professional agents don't come out of the blue and leave threatening messages regarding sensitive investigative issues on answering machines.

I also got the same weird message from a guy I could barely understand.  He said he was from the Department of Justice.  He asked me to call him back to answer a few questions about an investigation.  When I called the number back a voicemail answered with a women's voice stating that it it was the Department of Justice from Maryland District 5? blah.. blah.. total scam.
