This number calls several times a day. The Caller ID says "Not Available". It rings once or twice then hangs up. If you try to answer, it's silence then it finally hangs up. This has been happening everyday for WEEKS!!!!! I hope someone can put a stop to this!

At first it looked like there was something wrong with your keyboard, but after the first couple of lines it became clear that the problem was north of there, somewhere between your two ears.

Thought was scam til I actually looked them up n found they r legitimate. They fundraise for career fire fighters not vol. Due to the intimidation act career ff r not aloud to go door to door or talk directly to citizens for fundraising or accept donation at station bc of state law ( intimidation act) . Vol can accept donations at station bc ther not pro under state law they r vol that vol ther time wen they can. I can c a lot of people r just spewing out garbage bc ther mad at dif things. People don't understand. They just say I giv to my local station or vol n that's all I giv to. Where does that money go. To equipment?...u mean the equipment thats already payed for by county.....Great that's understood but ther r minimum 7professional career ff who live in every station 24/7 no matter vol or not n they come n service u if u directly ill 911. U may see it says vol on truck but its a pro ff that helping u . Vol r called vol for reason bc they "Volunteer"!! They help wen they can not wen ther needed. Think of it as teacher in class room with students, vol being student n pro being teacher. U hav to hav a pro ff's  in every station to watch over vol so thy don't screw up like a teacher in a class room. Also vol lot of.time r gona tell u watever then can to get ur money n lie n say how pro ff don't do fundraising but wen pro comes knocking the vol has ther tail between ther legs. Ther hv even been instances were vol hav been pissing on pro( real mature). N some of stuff vol do is embarrassing to a ff name like ther been few time were various mo co volunteer hav been fundraising n don't even use the money for good things, thy will use it for beer n kegs n partys n stupid stuff like that. Pro ff actually have legitimate programs that r not! Payed for by tax dollars like our victims assistant fund that is a legitimate program for people who r burned outa ther home need food n clothing n a place to stay. People need to get ther facts right. Do some research before u try spewing out garage onto the net. Majority of all calls that  rude n obnoxious r gona b from ur vol bc ther not professional, u will never hav pro ff leave a creepy voice mail n speak rudely on phone with u bc were r professional not vol who volunteer ther time wen they can. Vol wield ther power very badly, almost like a 5 yr old that just found his dads gun. It's gotten out of hand we hav even had vol peeing on professional ff!! Real mature guys

301-723-7009 with no name keeps showing up on Caller ID  -- probably prank call or just a stupid scam  -- report this to authorities.....

The calls from this number are from The Maryland Chiefs of Police Association.  I think it is some sort of fund raising company that has been hired, or it is a scam.  Anyway, if you call 1-800-379-5694, and listen to the recording, there will be an option to have your phone number removed from their call list.  I've done this, and can only hope it works.  They have been calling my home every single day!

I received a call from this number earlier this week and they left a voice message. A creepy voice message where the person on the call just whispered my full name then hung up. WTH is that about? Anyway, I may call them back tomorrow from my work number and chew them out. I hate calls like this. I rarely get telemarketers on my cell phone but ever since I signed up for a package with Verizon and now have a landline...what a pain in the a***! "Unknown" callers start calling at 8am on the weekend and call until past 8 at night. Ridiculous!

301 723 7009 called this evening at 8:46 I picked up and no one answered.  I called the number back
and got a recorded message stating along the lines of:  You are probably calling this number because you saw it apear on your telephone's screen.  This is the Maryland Chief of police assoc. we are calling to let you know about our programs.  Call our customer care number at 1 800 379 5694.
 
I called that number and got an automated system - This is the Maryland Chief of police assoc. push 1 to purchase tickets, 2 For donations . . .     Don't we pay taxes for police and fire fighters?    Are there volunteer Cheif of Police?

Call's every night about 7 7:30

I receive a call from this number while on the phone with the telephone company and when I call it back it said "thanks for calling the some police department" not the exact words because it happened so quickly.

When I called the number back it said "thanks for calling the chief of police association".

File a complaint with the State Attorney General's office.

Calls just started.....had 5 hang ups.  Called # back & heard a recording from chief of police donation blah blah blah.....how did this guy get my number?  Im thinking that one of his tactics is to hang up on u when u answer the phone to get you to call him back.  I fell for it!  Dont call the # back!  Im hoping that not answering the phone and calling 800 do not call # will stop the calls!

Thank you .That number does work.You donate to a couple of organizations and then you get inundated with phone calls.From now On I give only locally.

He hung up on him after telling him never to call us again.

Yeah! Stupid @sses are still up to it- Only Now it's like 2012!!! Calls daily almost. We don't answer anything unfamiliar. Ppl we know leave a MSG. Ran th# thru & discovered it's a phone in Cumberland, MD.  Going to use the 1 800 # DONOT CALL list to get them off our backs.

This number called13017237009. The last for are the same as family members home phone number, but different state. We are on a military installion, so if this person wants to cone check something in my home go right ahead and good luck getting past the security guards at both gates!!!

Unfortunately, charities are EXEMPT from Do-Not-Call. IMHO, this is fine for REPUTABLE charities. HOWEVER, charities like the "Police Protective Association" that get 0 stars on charity navigator should NOT be. If you agree, write or e-mail your representatives to amend the law.

Got a call from 301-723-7009. Deep-voiced guy said he was collecting for the MoCo firefighters. I told him I donate elsewhere. He said something like, "Why would you donate anywhere except to your local firefighters?" in a judgmental tone. Uh, cuz it's my money, and I donate to the organizations that I want to donate money to. I see now from the comments online that this guy isn't legit and has been a jerk to others.

'unlisted land line Cumberland, MD'; american male voice w/hick accent, slick con-man type attitude; offered to "come and check your smoke alarm batteries" (yeah, right, let some stranger into your house); when we said "we already have that service", they responded "oh, what kind of service is that? don't you want to have your smoke alarm batteries checked?"  sounds like a scam to prey on gullible or elderly to come & rob you and your house.
