i got a call from 707 656 4727 claiming to be lt. lynn taylor of the dea.  she said i could go go jail for 7 years and if i told anyone, husband, friend or family i would be implicating them and they too would face federal charges.  she said she could talk to customs in the dominican republic and see if i could pay a fine.  she put me on hold for a minute and came back saying i could pay $7000.  i had already googled her and found this and a couple other sites so i told her no, i wouldn't do that and i had found the websites.  she said she would prove to me she was real and dispatch officers to my home to arrest me and hung up.  i called the local police and gave them the info.  i also called the dea hotline in the above post and gave them the same info.

The same person called me. I didn't answer and his message was not threatening.  I couldn't understand everything he said. I think he said the name of the pharnacy that was selling the stuff, but I couldn't  understand it. He gave the name Brian Collier, if you google that name, there was a police official by that name who was involved with catching drug smugglers or something, but he died in Feb. 2010.
I would like to know how this person got my cell phone # and name.

While I can't speak from experience, I do not think any officer of the law is in the habit of calling someone to warn them that they will be served a warrant and be arrested the next day.

When ya think about that for a second or two, it just doesn't make any sense.

I received the same message as you guys on my answering machine.  I was very confused at first because I could only understand bits and pieces of the message.  I thought at first it was work related but then I finally made out what he was saying.  I started to get concerned and kept playing the message over and over cause I could make out what he was saying.  Then finally I figured it out. The funniest part for me was when he said, he had a search warrant, bench warrant or something else and gave the address where he would search.  The address he gave was my work place.  Why was it so funny to me? I work at the District Attorneys Office.  I was kind of hoping he would show up.  lol.  Some people are so stupid and annoying.

I got the exact same message as the above described from phone number 301-825-5010. Brian Collier. Reported him to the hotline above.

I called this guy back. He asked for my first and last name, I asked for his first. He says DEA agent Brian Collier, etc..

I told him never to call this number again and I reported him to the DEA.

Prank Call
I received a voicemail from Sgt. Brian Collier this morning. His message was long, drawn out, and rambling with a lot of important sounding jargon. He said he was with the DEA East Coast Division, district 5, drug enforcement, badge # AGT294. He said they have a search warrant for my residence, a bench warrant and a warrant for my arrest. He alleged I purchased pharmaceuticals online or by phone in 2007 which is illegal. He asked me to return his call at (301)825-5010 x725.  I returned his call and left a message on a "DEA" voicemail. In the meantime, my husband called an attorney that said it was a scam. Sgt. Collier called me back and wanted me to admit to purchasing meds online. He wanted details such as the name of the drug company I purchased from. He told me I broke the law and they are arresting everyone involved. He said that buyers are even being charged as coconspirators along with the drug companies they have been investigating from the Dominican Republic. He said the DEA and U.S. Marshall will be coming to my home within the next 24 hours to search and arrest me. I was expecting him to ask for money, but he didn't, which made me second guess if this was actually a scam. I hung up from him and called the "real" DEA which informed me that indeed, it was a scam. Mine and my husband's entire day had been consumed with gut wrenching fear and wasted time! I was determined to find more info out that could be useful to catch this lowlife. I called him back again, and of course, he never answers when you call. He returned my call shortly. I tried to tell him I was sorry and ask what could I do to make this go away. He said there was nothing I could do but wait for DEA to arrive. But because he's a nice guy, he did suggest I get rid of all the illegal drugs I have before they arrive. Now, I have just been waiting to see if he calls back with an offer for me. I'd love to be able to get something useful to give to the authorities so they can stop "Brian Collier" and the rest of his scam team. I'm very upset I had to waste an entire day dealing with this garbage! God Bless all of the other innocent victims like myself that we can put a stop to this.

I just got a voicemail from this number too that kept breaking up and then cut off after this so-called officer said "I have in my posession a search warrant..." then dial tone. I was just like "what?" So confused by the whole thing. So, naturally I came here considering I get spammed calls from fake pharmacy companies all the time. I have a doctor and medical insurance thank you very much and if I need a medication, I'm going to go to my doctor and to a "real" pharmacy. But anyway, thanks for the tips about this.

What I found interesting about this tho is that about 5 seconds before this call, I got a call from the Dominican Republic trying to sell me fake meds or whatever it is that they do. So, it was very interesting to see that this so-called officer wants his money wired to the Dominican Republic. This proves to me that this scammer is in with the fake pharmacies selling those fake meds. So, if anyone else is gonna report, please add this to the report on this guy that it seems he's in on the drug scams in the first place.

Way to scam people and claim to be some sort of federal agent! Thank God I'm smarter than you. Get a real job and leave me alone. Better yet, I can't wait til "real" federal agents show up at your door and you're the one getting searched and thrown into jail. Then everyone on this page can laugh at you. Buh-bye.

Thanks Sue for your post. Although I suspected something was "off" I was still distressed by the fake "DEA" call I received this afternoon and not certain as to how to proceed tomorrow. - It was very reassuring to understand what was actually happening. I will sleep easier tonight!

I received two messages from Brian Collier. I called him back today and he was very threatening and verbally abusive. Same scam as with the rest of the posts. He did scare me for a while then I told him that I would have my uncle who's an attorney call him to speak on my behalf and suddenly he wasn't going to be available until next Tuesday. I called the DEA hotline 877 792-2873 and left a detailed message. The more of us who do it the more power we'll have to stop this gutter slime from scamming and harassing people.

I rec'd a call from this number on today.  The guy claimed to be either "Ryan" or Brian Paulier, "Assistant to Special Agent in Charge" at the DEA offices, District 5.  This is the 3rd call that I've had of this nature and I'm really starting to get MAD!  This one was by far the worst!  He left a long rambling message on my answering machine, that he was obviously reading from a script!  I called back - just to waste their time - and I got a recording!
The first time that one of these guys tried to scam me, it took me a little while to figure out what was up & he threatened me with "sending agents to my house!"  So, I told him that I would prefer to meet face-to-face & please go ahead.  Then I googled the ph # & the next time one called, I was more prepared.
The second guy went on & I played along and then at the very end I told him that "it had been fun wasting his time, like they wasted mine, but I knew that this was a scam."  He tried to deny it and I laughed at him.  B4 he hung up on me, he actually threatened me, with language I won't post here.
I really would like to know how to stop this from happening!

That's a crock....don't tell me, his name is Brian Collier Badge#294, right? The very same person who is telling people he is DEA and then having them wire money to him to avoid charges for buying meds on the internet? How stupid do you people think we are?

Brian Collier called me this morning, 4-16-2012, and told me I must call him back immediately.  I did and got a recording.  Then, I saw all the posts about this guy trying to get money.  I won't be answering anymore calls from him.  I'm just glad I found out it was a scam.

This Brian Collier called me too and the exact same thing - either wirre money to the Dominican Republic or go to jail.  I was stupid enough to believe him and wired $800 to someone in the DR.  Then he calls me back and says I need to send another $1500 or I will be arrested.  He told me the DEA and US Customs had a wire tap on my phone.  I feel like such a fool.  I called the abuse hotline # listed above, 877-792-2873, and am also calling the local DEA office to report this scam.  Please don't be fooled like I was!

He is a scam artist and what he is doing is illegal.

SImilar Call as above on number 301-825 5010 from Stg Brian Collier Badge #294.  Very harassing and threatening.  Supposely I had ordered drugs via internet or via phone, he could not tell me when or what I had ordered, but told me he had all the records.  On phone, he said he had police standing outside my residence and was ready to arrest me.  Then he played the"nice" card and said he had a few options for me and would call off the officiers outside.  Option A) was for me to hire an international lawyer to fight my case (according to him this would cost thousands of dollars and probably still require jail time), Option B) was to plead guilty and probably serve 8 months in jail, 18 months probation and 4500 hours of community serve, Option C) was to pay and fine and everything would go away.  the fine was $2784.00 and had to be wired via western Union in the next 4 hours to an address in Dominican Republic.
It seemed pretty clear it was a scam fairly early in the conversation.  It seemed he was reading from a script and kept on repeating my name, although he got my name wrong a few times.
I hope they bust this scam and this guy does not threaten anyone less or get any money from anyone.
Putting him in jail would be good use of my tax dollars

I just got a call too from this phone number... a "Commanding Officer" named Brian Colliar.  Okay....I was scared shi&&*&^^. I mean really scared to death!. My husband came home because he was worried I was so upset, and I never get that way.
This guy threatned my property and everything in his message.  And yes, regarding a pharmacutical company.
So, what should I do now?
Obviously, not call him back (god I am glad I found this website a couple months back when I received another weird-o phone number call!)...
Anyway, I am thinking I should call my states Attorney General?? Please- any avice would be great.  And thank you Sue for your explanation above, after reading it...I was so relieved, I just cant tell you.  What is this world coming to when perople do this to other people just for a buck??

The Drug Enforcement Administration is warning the public about criminals posing as DEA special agents or other law enforcement personnel as part of an international extortion scheme.

The criminals call the victims (who in most cases previously purchased drugs over the lnternet or by telephone) and identify themselves as DEA agents or law enforcement officials from other agencies.  The impersonators inform their victims that purchasing drugs over the lnternet or by telephone is illegal, and that enforcement action will be taken against them unless they pay a fine.  In most cases, the impersonators instruct their victims to pay the "fine" via wire transfer to a designated location, usually overseas.  If victims refuse to send money, the impersonators often threaten to arrest them or search their property.  Some victims who purchased their drugs using a credit card also reported fraudulent use of their credit cards.

Impersonating a federal agent is a violation of federal law.  The public should be aware that no DEA agent will ever contact members of the public by telephone to demand money or any other form of payment.

The DEA reminds the public to use caution when purchasing controlled substance pharmaceuticals by telephone or through the Internet.  It is illegal to purchase controlled substance pharmaceuticals online or by telephone unless very stringent requirements are met.  And, all pharmacies that dispense controlled substance pharmaceuticals by means of the lnternet must be registered with DEA.  By ordering any pharmaceutical medications online or by telephone from unknown entities, members of the public risk receiving unsafe, counterfeit, and/or ineffective drugs from criminals who operate outside the law.  In addition, personal and financial information could be compromised.

Anyone receiving a telephone call from a person purporting to be a DEA special agent or other law enforcement official seeking money should refuse the demand and report the threat.
