Unsolicited call from 3018614961
Linn 2013-09-30 20:30:26 Telemarketer
Hello everyone.
This company calls my phone several times per week using different numbers. I call back and the recorded message is the same for all numbers. Listen to the prompt; it will ask you to enter your number if you do not wish to be called. Yes,I know, they may NOT comply. I think they will comply because they are a legitimate telemarketing company ( but I think also unethical) and they could get into big trouble if they continue to call AFTER 30 DAYS.
One thing to be aware of is this: when they say they are calling ON BEHALF OF... it means they are doing so independently. The gather all sorts of info and sell it to whoever buys it. So listen carefully, and demand to be taken out of list. If you get nasty they will hang up on you for sure-so for the sake of getting results, stay cool. In the end, they may get away with calling anyway because they use different ph. numbers.

Someone keeps calling asking for my husband and will not say who it is or why. I am no longer picking up the calls.

They have been calling us multiple times a day, starting at 8:00AM. If we pick up the phone, but there is never anyone on the line to ask to stop.
We won't give any more money to the Democratic Party, that's for sure.

Is it possible for one's political preferences to be influenced by harassing phone calls? For me, the answer is unfortunately yes. The DNC has been calling me for years and won't stop despite my consistent requests to be on their Do-Not-Call list. What don't they get about this?
You mean if I give you money, you will harass me in return?
They passed the Do-Not-Call list for commercial telemarketers for a reason. People hate them. Why would the DNC think that they are any different?
Don't spend your money on telemarketers, DNC. Spend it on email and Twitter and texts if you have to. Invading my life with phone calls is a deal killer. Try entering the 21st Century.

I get a call from this number every afternoon. If I answer, there is a click as the call is disconnected. I'm not sure what is accomplished by calling people and hanging up daily, unless it's just filling a call quota.

They just called me at work--and I work for the Federal government! They hung up when I answered.

I just received a call from this number a moment ago. When I picked up the phone, it made a screeching noise as if a fax were being sent. I went over to my computer, which is configured to pick up faxes (and I use the same number for faxes and for phone calls). I thought that maybe someone was sending me something, but no transmission came through.

I think that there should be some law that these morons are breaking. Every day at different times I receive this number calling. Occasionally I pick up and there is no one there. Disgusting. And very annoying. I am 84 and it is a problem sometimes to get to the phone.

We get this number, and others, calling us essentially on a daily or twice-daily basis. Our phone rings about 6-8 times a day with these calls, which we never answer. Today after reading through this thread I decided to call back and it sent me straight to a recorded message telling me to leave my number in voicemail if I wanted to be added to the Do Not Call list. Seems efficient and reasonable to me, although why any service would call over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over with no response EVER is beyond me. What is the point of paying people to dial numbers over and over that never respond?
Seems like a ridiculous waste of time, especially these days when more and more people (like me) stick to using cell phones and the ones who don't are increasingly less likely to answer calls from unknown numbers.
I did telephone surveys in college part time many years ago, and we were told to scratch a number off our call sheets if we got three "no answers." Guess that rule no longer applies.

Just received a call from this number here at the office. It was an auto-dialer dialing numbers to spread info about Obama and the voting locations in Virginia. Total spam.

TV leads us to believe that phone calls can be traced. Why can't this number be traced, the caller identified and sued for harassing people.
sick of the phone 2011-05-05 19:43:45 Unknown
Why would you give money to them?! That won't make them stop calling, that would encourage them. I don't get harassing phone calls from the Republican party. This sounds like extortion. Leave me alone!
readytosue 2011-01-15 00:18:11 Unknown
If they call again-after being told NOT TO- I'm ready to sue- could use the extra money!!!!!!!
Ethelean Smart 2010-06-18 21:08:45 Unknown
Why do people call you about given money and whatever? I did not get a raise on the ssa check and the wants me to give money. so they can get rich.

'Do Not Call' will not work, political parties and campaigns are 'EXEMPT', from the list.
Please give what you can afford, the sooner the better!

Called 6PM today, Sunday, I didn't answer, and they left no message. This is second time this week. If you won't leave a message, it must not be important and lilkely a solicitaion. I'm sorry, phone service is so abused I won't pick up unless I know who it is. Thaaks for the other posts, looks like I was right.

I promised to give $20 to the Republican party for every call I get from them. They are the Democratic National Committee. They said they would make sure I am on the Do not call list.

this is a commercial calling service that apparently places calls for any client. This evening their client was the Democratic party of VA. They were soliciting $50 contributions.
Political parties are exempt from the "do not call lists", so there you go! Apparently what's good for the goose is not good for the gander if you're running for public office. Politicians always seem to find a loophole for their pet causes - forgetting their beleagered constituents.
I'm tempted to boycotte the democrats this election because they won't close this loophole - but then the republicans don't either. What a travesty of representing public interests by both parties.
