A Miss Smith called me from this number back in February, I told her that all I owed was $490, and she wanted me to pay $890, told her to call me back when it was $490 (I refuse to pay her bonus money).  I made a few payments since she last called Feb. 21st. I asked Miss Smith, at SIMM & Associates, back in February not to call my place of employment.  On 3/19/2014, she left a voicemail on my work phone, then spoke with my receptionist asking for me and letter her know she was calling from SIMM and Associates.  She also asked for the Human Resource fax number to send over a "verification" of employment.  Once Miss Smith called my personal line (last), she said that work calls would cease once payments were set up.  What she did was wrong, and could have caused a lot of trouble.  This has to be a violation of the Fair Credit Act!

They call from different numbers trying to collect from me as the executor of my mothers estate - on my daughters student loan that is NOT in default.

A woman called me asking for my father, I asked who and why she was calling and she kept saying it was a personal matter. Then I told her if she wanted to talk to my father then she would need to give me a number to give to him. And then she told me that she would call him so she "didn't have to deal with me" such a rude b****

the person who called me with this number hung up before i could possilby answer. the caller id on my phone picked up the number. not ten seconds later i get a call from a "unavailable" number. this is the second time in two days i've gotten and "unavailable" call. i think that the person who called with the 302-283-2800 is the same person calling with an "unavailable" number. needless to say, i'm not answering.

I also got a call from this number 302-283-2843 and it was about a student loan for someone else that they thought was me. After giving my birthday (I wasn't about to give my SSN) they realized that they had the wrong Jennifer and removed my name from the list, or at least she said she did, we shall see. But I will make sure to answer and give my two cents if they do call me back.

Received a call from 302-283-2800 the woman asked for Autum Wallace. I told her she had the wrong number. A few days later I received another call from 302-283-2800 a man left a message asking that Autum Wallace call him back at 866-572-8791 so I did and yelled at a couple of people to stop calling me, I am not Autum Wallace and do not know who Autum Wallace is. Very annoying!

They did identify themseves as SIMS Associates but would give no other information about themselves.

I got a call from this number, usually don't pick up un-recognized numbers but I know people in Newark and it's sort of local to where I am, so I thought I should answer it.

I got sort of a different response then everyone else, the woman on the other end was very courteous and asked for Brenda. I said she had the wrong number, she said "Oh ok. You don't know Brenda *something*?" and I said "nope" and she said "Ok, I'll take you off our list"

I wanted to ask what list and who was calling, but I figured I would just look up the number afterwards...and here we are.

That is unheard of...  In no way shape or form, does messing up on credit card bills (or mortgage, or anything financial for that matter) affect your custody rights with your child(ren).... What he said was blatantly illegal, and normally I'm not one for suing people, i think this country has gotten "Sue Happy" but this is the exception to that rule, my mother had stage three brain cancer, and underwent multiple surgeries that could of bankrupted my parents.... to say she should of died, I'd drive to his office and kick his a**, and then your child... there are a lot of things they are not allowed to say, he broke a lot of laws.  Contact the FCC and State Attorney generals office, here are links;

This company is a very underhanded debt collection company. They told my 10 year old daughter that if we didn't pay our bills they were gonna take our house and she would be living on the street. i also got a call from them, lady said you need to pay this amount by the end of month then you can pay 75 there after. it's called hardship. we need you to call us back with banking info or prepaid card. if we do not hear from you, we will asume you don't want to take care of this matter we will have to forward it for further action. what do i do?

tom line is if they don't leave a voice mail I never take it on myself to return a call let a lone answer their call.

I am receiving numerous calls from this company asking for a person that has never lived at this address. What does concern me is my daughter-in-law's maiden name is who they are asking for. If this was a result of valid information, they would have never given this contact number as they live over 300 miles away and not as close as I or they would like to be. Under NO circumstances give them any information or they will not leave you alone!!

LOL! Yeah pay your debts! However with this company it may not even be your debt. Don't pay any debt that you are not sure of. First ask for proof the debt is yours. While waiting for your proof, check your own credit report. If the debt is proven and it is your debt, never pay the amount in full! Always try to settle with the company for less then the amount the collector is asking for. Debt collectors often apply fees to a debt that can often double the amount of the original debt. I'm not saying don't pay your debts. I am saying be careful you are paying YOUR DEBT!

I use to work for them and they let me go after I reported sexual harassment. I have extensive documents of all my encounters with HR. Never could find a lawyer to take my case and this was just in September of this year..

these guys are ridiculous. they call at all hours any day of the week and refuse to contact the alleged client to determine that this account should not be in their possession. i have requested to speak with the manager several times and every time they report that he is on the other line with a customer or is out of the office currently. i leave a message to have the manager ("Steve") call me back at his convenience which never happens and a few days later the calls start again...whats the deal? They typically mumble their names and the name of the company every time which is also suspicious and i have never received any documents in the mail.

"Mary Hartman" called from "Sim & Associates" asking for "Marlene" (not my name) and said that my file had just reached her desk, and gave a six digit file number.  Have received other calls from this same company.  Have told them not to call again, Marlene is not at this number.

Howdy all, At 6:05 last evening we received on our voicemail..which isn't real clear..sounds like He says he's with Someone(?) & Frasier' concerning a civil suit against 'you & Michael' ...we know no Michael..He goes on to give that 1-800-864-6033 (ext.2086) number, then says Thank you, 'Robert Fine'(?)

This same number called me looking for my sister. Said he was with Sim and Associates, gave an 800 number to call back. Refused to leave a message other than to give a case number. he wasn't rude, but stated he was an attorney working for this group and this was a business matter. I searched the number and came up with this site, very helpful. I HAVE A QUESTION: when your account is "sold" to someone else, i was told that you are not legally required to repay it because you do not owe that new person anything...is that true???? This person apparently did not pay her debts because her credit card company called I explained I was not her now some woman from a debt collection agency wants to call me at 8:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning and fight with me, be rude to me and insult my intelligence after WAKING THE WRONG PERSON UP????  Well, I have something for the  too.

I received a call from this number.  He said he had one of my old accounts but he mentioned the wrong amount.  I have not even heard anything from this creditor.  He also advised that he was sending a deputy to my JOB.  Trying to scare me but I am not contacting him back.  I need to see things in writing before speaking with anyone.  He gave me an 800 call back number but I was in collections before nevertheless at work so I did not write it down.  However when he gave the wrong amount for the balance of the debt owed I became a little uneasy and stopped listening.

They are debt purchasers.

Tell them that you are herby warning them to issue further communication via writing ONLY and that if they call you again they are breaking the telecommunications act and you will report them to the police.

Also make sure you tell them you record your calls for security purposes - even if your actually not.

But try recording them. This company will make your life hell if you let them.

Do your research and be in control. If your not comfortable doing this tell them what I said above and hang up. If they call you more than 3times in 1 day this is breaking the law.

Do your reserch search "The Consumer action group" on google, you can find all the laws and info put simply on there.

I keep getting calls from this number and the person is looking for somebody named francis.  I have repeatedly told them that I've had this number for well over a year and that there is no francis here.

I got the same call from this number saying they were with "Sim and Assocites." They kept calling and calling but never say what is the purpose of the call..I don't know who this company is or why they keep calling.

I got a call - this Robert Fine left a number on my voicemail claiming he received a call from my mortgage company regarding a civil suit filed against me and them - I've never been served with a summons and my mortgage co. has not notified me of any such civil suit.  He said that he has held up a letter being sent to my employer ...  claims he was lead counsel for Sim Associates (me mumbled the name and had to listed to the message three times before I made heads or tails of what he was talking about)  Left a number to call him back on as 800 864 6033 x 2086, but Caller ID says the number is 302 283 2800.
