Many posters say this is Discover Card.  You'll now want to read their privacy policies and see they sell your address for marketing.

They are NOT calling about your account, but want to set up a credit card in your name.  We have our policy that if we do not place the call, we do NOT give out any information.  If that upsets the caller, tough!!!  That goes for callers asking for money for ANYTHING.  Sorry, but the scammers have make it too risky to do business like this over the phone anymore.

Scam!  I went to www.discover.com and called the 800 number and connected to their fraud department.  She confirmed that they have no record of me and that it was most likely phishing scam.  
Please go to Discover's website call the number on their site to confirm for yourself.  Don't trust these fake posts claiming it's legitimate...

I wouldn't do any business with a credit card company that ISN'T open on a Sunday.

I agree with the sentiment although you could have said it more nicely.

This is a perfectly legitimate call, it's from Discover, in fact it's likely they are trying to call you with something important about your account.  Don't say it's a scam when it isn't, do your research first.

Unwanted telemarketer call

Have no idea, they just hang up. Not going to even bother calling them back! A holes woke me UP and now I'm MAD as H@LL to find out it was STUPID DISCOVER CARD!!! I don't even have an account with them either!!!!

Early this morning - 7:54 a.m. my phone rang.  My caller ID said "Discover Bank" and the number they called from is 302-323-5500. They would not leave a message, and they hung up at the 4th ring of my phone (probably because they didn't want my answering machine to pick up so they'd be charged for the phone call)

 Isn't it against the law for a commercial entity to phone so early?

Someone called me and sound strange and asked for a not real name...I did not like how everything was...

I received a call from 302-323-5500 today, looked the number up, it said New Castle, DE  "unknown." Called the number back using a different phone, when they answered the first thing she asked for was my account number; she said that it was Discover, yeah right. When I asked about this number they claimed that it was showing up on their caller ID as my number! I asked if it was a legit number, was told that it was a branch bank and probably a marketing call, go figure.

Beware, I didn?t trust the number.

I did call both 800 numbers for Discover bank and Discover card and was assured that in fact it was a legit number so I asked to opt out receiving marketing phone calls.

It is discover card, it is legit.

I had a missed call from this number and i called it back and it was for discover bank. so i looked up the website for discover bank and i could sign in to my discover card account from there so yes it is legit.

It's from discover.  I recently apply for the credit card.

after this number has called and tricked you into your information, if you try to return the call from the same number they called you at, it will say it is a non working NEXTEL number...but whne dialed form a cell phone they had not called me on it worked...Discover Bank is NOT Discover Card....

I received a call from 302-323-5500 and it was from DISCOVER to verify that I had applied for a credit card online. It's legit!
