WELLS FARGO PHISHING (IDENTITY THEFT) ATTEMPT - DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION
Text message that said:
434@wls.net W e l l s--F a r g o--Support: call 1-3023512593.
I've gotten lots of these in the last couple of weeks so I was pretty sure I knew what this was but I called the # just to be positive. It was answered by an automated female voice (it's always a female) that kept breaking up but basically said my debit card was limited and to press 1 to reactivate. I pressed 0 instead just to see if I'd get a live person and instead it asked for the last 4 digits of my Social Security #. At that point I hung up and reported it to Wells Fargo's phishing report department, which is at:
reportphish@wellsfargo.com
I also checked out wls.net but the site looks to be in German and I don't speak that language. But there was a link to report abuse and that page was easy to figure out so I sent a message (in English) about this. Hopefully someone will be able to translate it.
