These people start calling me at 6 am and call up to 15 times a day until 9:30 at night. They have NEVER left a message. I see some people say this is WaMu. Didn't WAMU go out of business? Weren't they bought out by somebody else? Is this maybe a scam?
stan 2011-06-06 20:44:50 Unknown
its wamu collections...they will call from 3 to 6x a day from many many numbers
al 2009-02-06 03:33:07 Unknown
multiple calls from this number in December, every 7 minutes some days. I am a WAMU customer, but have no debt with them or anyone else, so it is definitely not collections.
It sounds like some folks have called back and been directed to a recording that identifies itself as WAMU and asks for your credit card information--- OBVIOUSLY A SCAM if that is the case.

This is NOT a washington mutual number. This is a scammer trying to get you to call back and give your credit card information. Do NOT do so! Wamu denies any association with these people.

Hi, this is definitely Washington Mutual. I did get behind on my payments but am trying. They are RELENTLESS and call multiple times a day (8am to 9pm) from multiple numbers 7 days a week. They "spoof" the caller id. They can input any number to read on your caller id. I think they have used at least 25 different numbers to call me. I thought that was illegal to do for a collector.

Received a call today from 303-209-0040 and they did leave a message from WAMU to call them at 866-397-4904 or go to the web at www.MAUMcanhelp.com.

I should have edited my post...sorry. The above poster, "tripwire" is 100% correct about these numbers. I was a bit confused and thought that I had another "new" number, but was wrong. Sorry.

Multiple calls per day from early morning til evening. They never leave a message because it is a computer. Washington Mutual, as was mentioned by another user.

This is a Washington Mutual Collection Call Number (WAMU). They have a whole series of numbers the call from. DO NOT ANSWER FROM THESE NUMBERS, YOU WILL BE SORRY IF YOU DO.

The reason no one answers is the call is done by a computer, designed to tag when you are home, when and if you answer. This information is automatically entered into the computer for them to focus their efforts to get the most bang for the bucks. If you call back to the number (block your caller ID), the computer tags the number you called from and matches it against numbers they are trying to reach. It also notes the day, time, timezone, any information that will help them. They do not care if you have just acquired the number, in debt, owe them, they have a number and if they can use it to their advantage, they will.
WAMU is in deep financial trouble and will stop at nothing to save their bad policies/decisions and company from ruin

Washington Mutual! Harassing phone calls from several different numbers that they somehow manage to obtain to try and dupe you into answering! They should be one of the banks to fail as they are shady dealing crooks! The Attorney General needs to investigate these people and put a stop to them! If not there is enough pissed off people to form a vigilante group and take care of this our own way!

I am glad I found this and I will believe the other posters that it is wamu. I have recieved a lot of calls from this number with the same results. It is really annoying.

If this is WAMU, they have called my cell twice today, once at 11:05am from an 800-297-8359 number and now at 3:22pm from the 303-209-0040 number. I do have a card with them, but don't use it. If I wasn't in my office working, I would have picked up. The next call I get I will answer and find out what's up.

These people call me multiple times a day!! Yes, I have a card through WAMU, but this phone number comes up as Denver on my caller ID. I don't know anyone in Denver, so I don't answer my phone, and of course they never leave a message. Guess they don't have to talk to me very bad.

This number is from Washington Mutual Credit Services. I've been receiving calls from this number for the past 5 days (sometimes 2 or 3 times a day). I've only had my phone number for a week. Each time they call and ask for a Christian. I've told them there is no one by that name at this number and to remove the phone number from their calling list. Yet they continue to call. I took it upon myself to call the number back and filed a complaint.

This IS WAMU. I just got a call from them a few minutes ago. I have one of their credit cards. I paid it off and stopped using it (due to some rule changes they made) and ever since then, they attack me with sales calls. I am on the do not call list, but I think they have found some sort of loop hole...this business is run very shady in my opinion. If you do happen to have one of their cards, be sure and keep up to date on the changes they make. It could cost you a bunch if you don't.
irked 2008-04-10 04:02:23 Unknown
I think it is WAMU... they also call from a local # in your state that may look like a cell phone#. They call 3-6 times a day and never leave a message

They called twice today. Don't know who this is.
dupped 2008-04-10 00:29:27 Unknown
I think this is some kind of telemarketing scheme. They call, don't leave a message. I've tried calling back several times only to be met with a busy signal. Lots of companies using false caller IDs these days it seems. All they have listed is the city or state of origin of the area code rather than the full disclosure they are supposed to have.
