crooked scammers called looking for my wife using her maiden name. I called the 866 967 5818 number back to see what they wanted. something about a payday loan and a bank from 2010. I told him she didn't use that bank in 2010 he called me a liar. I told him I wanted a proper debt validation letter per the ftc guidelines and he refused. I told him he was a crook and a scammer and not to call back. he told me he would continue to call and the sheriff would be at her house in 24 hours. if I had been in the same room as him I would have killed the arrogant b*****d.

Got a call from "James Cervola (sp?)" looking for "Laura Montgomery." I'm not Laura Montgomery, and I don't know any Lauras or Montgomerys. Best of luck finding this trick who keeps using my phone number, but if your harassing was half as good as your investigating you'd probably have her by now!

These scammers have been calling me about once a month since June, first from the 866 number they leave, now they just called today from this Colorado number. I really wish they would leave me alone. I've never even owned a credit card and have no outstanding debt... yet I am still getting harassed by fake "bill collectors"

Same thing happend to me. As soon as I mentioned bankruptcy, I was put on hold and no one ever came back on the line. These people are always calling me.

I received a call like everyone else has described. When I called back I told them it was a scam to which they get really nasty. I have had these phone calls off and on since July. They were originally coming from Georgia and now they are in Colorado. I told them to take my number out of their system and hung up. I now have them blocked. They are difficult to get information out of.

I received the same call as this today (10-2-13)  It just amazes me how people don't care about calling you with this BS.  Someone has too much time on their hand.  I do have some debt but are aware of it and have received notification of it in the US mail. A person of interest, wow this is something else.  I hope someone finds out whose doing this.  I received a call a few months ago saying that I was involved in a civil suit from a number with the area code 240 and this turned out to be BS which I already knew, but over 20 people had written in just like this. I think these people are trying to get a hold of financial information so that they can drain your bank accounts, so be careful.

They called and said I owed a bank from 2012 but was a bank I never had. Then asked if I can pay over 5000 and asked if I could get the money from my family. When I told him I had a bank he asked me for the name I have it he asked for the number when I said I didn't fill confer table giving it over the phone he hung up... Watch out

Collections, or so he, the caller claims.  He said the debit was from April 12, 2008.  We don't have any outstanding debts. The guy gave us a bogus case number and refused to tell us what the debt was for and who it was for.  When told about our bankruptcy that covered it all he hung up.

Received a call from (303) 327-9768.  This is "Retention & Acquisition Recovery," looking to collect a debt.  They ask for a call back at (866) 967-5818; looks like it's based in Colorado.

It is a collection company they kept calling my parents house but never left messages I finally called and got a hold of someone saying I owed a debt from 2009!! I think they gave me a bogus company name capital recovery something but I googled and no info!!
