Got a call from Global contact 304-929-1143, telling me they were from Bank of Amarica... Looks like all these banks are using this third party company to do their dirty work. A fool and it's money will soon be parted.

Oh and be sure to check your statements each month, all these banks like to charge you a "service fee" for no reason at all. Happened to me more than a few times and when you call it in they will take it off, but when asked they will tell you "I don't know why that was charged". >_>" Wonder how much they scam out of people each month...

Yeah, so, it's some foreign offshore thing.  Some woman calls, asked in broken English to speak with me.  I just told her "no" and hung up, but I am pretty sure, based upon what other people are saying, that is has to do with being a Wachovia/Wells Fargo customer.

I ignored calls from this number for a while, but they kept becoming so numerous that I decided to answer. A female who identified herself as "Sherry West" , told me that she was calling Wachovia / Wells Fargo customers to send them a free $25 gift card for gas. She said that I would be enrolled in some sort of insurance plan, which has great coverage etc etc. She just kept rambling and reading off of the screen without pausing. She said I would be enrolled immediately and that I have 60 days to cancel.... I informed her that I had ZERO interest in enrolling and NOT to send me anything. I asked her how Global Contacts obtains information about Wachovia customers and she just said that they get a list from Wells Fargo. I asked her NOT to call me again, and that the amount of calls I have been getting from them amounts to nothing else but harassment.

Unfortunately you are mistaken, the law only applies to  the funds "en route",IE: the physical social security check or the electronic deposit itself, once the document has been processed and deposited into an account, the law does not apply to the monetary funds in an account. If you have a Credit card, Social Security or not, you are legally obligated to pay for the charges you made on that card and, if you read the fine print, they are allowed by contract to go after any balances you may have in a Bank of America account. Yes I agree Bank of America is a bunch of crooks and practices many unethical and slightly illegal scams, the reason I do not do business with them and will refuse any check, or credit/debit card ran  on one of their banks. A check from a Bank of America account is not worth the paper is is written on and opens your account, regardless of the bank, to any of the many scams that are ran by and through Bank of America. If someone offers you payment through Bank of America, refuse it, demand cash, also do not make a payment by check, credit or debit card to anyone who banks with Bank of America, I have had them (Bank of America, not the individual) in the past come back and claim that my check, already cashed, was lost and destroyed and file a second electronic transaction with my bank..
