(304) is a WV area code not NC,unless Mike's company uses one of those telephone services where you pick your own area code that was a lie. Being from WV it just seems strange that anyone would do that voluntarily. WV isn't really known for it's businesses, actually quite the opposite, it's not known for much of anything except white water rafting, crazy acting hillbillies, and the plethora of ignorant stereotypical jokes told by persons not educated on the fact that it's illegal to marry cousins in WV (FYI it is legal in Va). One stereotype does seem valid, for me anyway, I don't wear shoes unless I have to : )

I answered the phone & said hello a few times. No one answered. Then they hung up the call without saying anything. Tried to call the # back, but stated it's a non-working #.

What gets me is if you call back that number you get a recording that says it's not a working number.

Have been getting calls from this "Security Promotions" for over a week now. It's a recording and I keep hitting 2 to opt-out but the calls keep coming.

I just receive a call from this number on my cell. It was muffled machine sound, which I couldn't understand, and it didn't respond to hello, so I just hanged up.

Received 1 call (so far) from this number on April 25 with very loud music playing. The caller did not speak. I hung up.

My wife received a call from this number this morning. There was silence on the other line for a few seconds and there was the sound of rapid breathing and someone said, "help!" very faintly and then hung up.
My wife was quite disturbed by the call, when she tried to call it back it was not a valid phone number.
We reported it to our 911 service to have them follow up if possible. The caller ID said "charleston, wv."

Yes - I got a call from this number. My caller ID said "wireless caller" but I picked up and it was the same automated message talking about statistics from the fire department, and then asks if I needed some security service, or would be willing to put a sign in my yard. I have received these calls (from different phone numbers, but with the same automated message) to my home landline, now over 15x in the last 3 weeks; and I am already on a do not call list which was renewed in January 2012.
There is an option to press 1 to hear more, or to press 2 to be removed from this list. The first 14 calls, I pressed 2. After not being removed, and receiving this call just 15 mins ago, I decided to press 1. I got another very brief automated message and then "Mike" came on the line. Here is how the conversation went:
Mike: Hi, thanks for showing interest in our services.
CC1: Hi! can you tell me who I am speaking with?
Mike: I am Mike.
CC1: Hi Mike! What company is calling me today?
Mike: I am with "Security Promotions".
CC1: Thanks for that, and where are is your company based?
Mike: North Carolina,
CC1: Ok, where in NC?
Mike: Charlotte, but we operate all over the nation.
CC1: Do you have a website url I can check out and a phone number I can call back on in case we are disconnected?
Mike: No, I don't. Anything you need, I can share with you.
CC1: Really? A nation-wide company doesn't have a website for consumers to take a look at?
Mike: Hangs up.
I was chipper and friendly the whole time, as my aim was to find out who has been repeatedly calling and harassing my elderly parents in their home, and to make a formal complaint. I called the operator to see how to make a formal complaint on this "company".
