I have been getting the same calls for almost 9 months.  Being that I work for a credit card company, I know that this area code is well known for credit card scams.

It is a shame that the F.C.C. is so spineless. What we should do is find out where these vermin are actually calling from and burn them out of their offices with them still in them. These parasites call at least twice a week.
Maybe then they will get the message to stop bothering people.

My husband hung up on them, I called the number back to tell them not to call and got a message that the number is discontinued.  Very annoying.

Recorded message from number that has called more than once.  I answered this time, and pressed '1' when prompted.  A representative answered and asked "Did you press '1' to lower your interest rate?".  I responded "No, I pressed '1' to tell you this number is on the do not call list."  He hung up on me without another word.  I tried to call the number back, but get the recorded message that it has been disconnected.

I reported this on the donotcall.gov website.

They say press one to speak with someone and press two to let your lower rates expire. I pressed two on two calls and still they call. I called the number back and it says it is not connected. WTF. I put my number on do not call, but how do we get these people investigated?

This is not just someone ignoring the do-not-call list.. these are clearly scammers.  I get called by them ALL the time--almost daily lately.  Sometimes they call from an 062 area code (phony), sometimes from 305.  This time from 305-222-1966.  It is always the same though; they want all the info. on your credit cards and claim to be able to lower your interest rates.

I play along and usually they hang up pretty fast.  This time she talked for a bit.  When asked for the company phone number she said it was her first day so she didn't know it (heard that one before from them.)  She also couldn't tell me a web site or state they were registered with (though she claimed that she was in Atlanta.)  She had no comment as to why they were calling people on the do-not-call.  She hung up when I nicely suggested that she quit this scam and inform the FBI about the company.  ;-)

Please, someone tell us how to get the FBI and/or CIA on these groups.  The problem will get much worse without some legal action!

Interesting - I also received this call shortly after efiling taxes.  I never answer out of area calls or ones not recognized.

I got my first 'no message' call from them about 8 hours after I filed my taxes through a well-known vendor.  It could be just coincidence...  but I would be curious if anyone else starts to receive the calls shortly after filing their taxes using software.

We get these calls often - not sure it's the same number.  But it is an automated message, abbreviated, something about a credit card and it is our last courtesy call.  Totally bogus.

Do not give any information.  Don't even answer if you have the option.

It is a scam!  The auto voice tells you that this is a call from your credit card company.  They tell you not to panic because everything is okay with your account.  However, then they tell you that interest rates are going up.  Then they expect you to hold for an operator.  If you naive enough to take the call, you will find that this is an identity theft company.  They want your personal information while you think you'll dealing with someone from your own credit card company.  Your own credit card company will never call you and ask you for personal information.

Listen, the only way we are going to stop this scam and the scam that cautions you that your auto waranty is about to expire, is to report these calls to the FCC (Federal Communications Commission). You may file your complain online or get further information at the following web site:

Receive calls on a daily basis stating it is the FINAL chance to lower the interest rate on my credit card.  I do not pay interest on any credit card and if it is the FINAL chance why do they call every day?

The numbers do change.  I have been keeping a spreadsheet with dates, times and the number that shows on caller ID along with the names given when I choose to answer.

The real way to stop this is to contact your state senator.  There was a bill S.704 introduced in 2007, but the senate did not pass it.  Congress did pass the bill that makes "spoofing" caller id numbers illegal.  :It has been held up in the Senate since December 2007.  For verification go to http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s110-704 .

If we inundate our senators with complaints, they may finally act on this legislation.

Don't mess with these jokers. Just go to https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx and file a complaint with the Feds. These idiots are not going to listen to your complaints, they don't care.
