Political Call
The phone calls are not legit,  They do not abide by the TCPA guidelines set forth by the FTC.  I worked for a minuted doing political surveys, it is required by law to state what company/organazation is calling.  I imagine that if you are to text 'do not call' to whatever number it stated you would more than likely find some random charges on your cell phone list.

Also, for everyone ranting about the do not call list, it is not some magically fix that prevents unwanted calls.  If you contact a company or give them your number they are allowed to call you be in a landline or cellphone for the next year.

I have read through and noticed that everyone that states a location is out of Iowa and getting the calls on cell phones.  I am wonder how many folks have or have ever had their numbers with I-wireless.

Political Call
We got a call from this number on all 4 of our cell phones within 5 minutes - I answered mine and we ignored the rest.  Political 'spamming' is worse than telemarketers!!

This group should also be included in the Do Not Call list - my daughter is under 18 and cannot vote anyway.

QUIT CALLING!!

I got a call from this number and I called it back and all I got was my service provider telling me that this number is "no longer in service."
Um. How is it no longer in service if it just called me no longer than 2 minutes ago? I'm confused.

A call from number 305-792-8101 kept interrupting very important family conversation. How irritating! No message was left.
Such kind of invasion must be stopped. It's bothering innocent people!
Please investigate what possibly is bothering all of us and make it stop.
Thank you for your help.

I got the call.   Some political survery.     Political surveys and charities are exempt from the do not call list I think.    But if you have listed as a volunteer for your politicial affiliation, that is how your number gets on these list as well.

Survey
I know that political calls are not covered by the Do Not Call list. I did think that cell phones in general were off limits to telemarketers of any kind due to the fact that on some plans incoming minutes do count against the phones owner and then the telemarketing is basically costing the phone user money or their minutes.

Personally I dont answer my home phone anymore because I am getting so many political calls a day, if its a real person they will leave a message. Well to be fair they are political calls or opinion polls of a political nature.

Someone really needs to come up with a do not call list for the bs not covered by the do not call list. Especially for the recorded messages.....come on at least pay some poor college student to get hung up on and support the economy!

How dumb to cast a vote based on getting a robo call 16 months before the election occurs.  Voting needs to be based on the issues not marketing.

Political Call
Political calls are exempt from the Do Not Call registry.

These calls are generated from an automated dialer system.  They (the political affiliation) choose what area of the country they want to target.  Their systems person then programs by area code what area of the country and the times they want them called - probably exempting numbers to commercial businesses -  and then just let it go from there.  Usually the system will dial sequentially.  If someone answers the call - the automated recording starts.  If nobody answers, it goes to the next call in the sequence.

Dialer systems can call hundreds of numbers at a time depending on how elaborate the set up is.

Yep, pollster.  They don't need your number or a Do Not Call List.  Using an automatic dialer that starts at 0000 and works its way up.  This is a recorded message taking a survery.  At work had four cell phones hit in about 15 minutes.  Grin and bear it, welcome to the age of technology.  Remember this call next time you hear or read about a national poll.  Yeah, like I'm going to trust those numbers.

Political Call
It is a political poll asking for a text message to be returned with who we intend to vote for.  They actually want you to reply if you don't want to participate as well.  Seems very phishy to me.  There was no specific political party associated with the poll unlike what people above said.

Political Call
I just got a robo call from what appears to be from the Democratic Party. I would sure like to know how they obtained my cell phone number! I can tell you this for sure, my vote will be going the other way in the next election! I can't believe how stupid these professsional politians are getting to be! They alll think that we "the people" are going to buy into this type of political process. Boy are they going to get a fooling come election time.

Since incoming calls don't cost, I just lay the phone down and let them go on their nickel. It's an automated recording.

For those of you having fits about being on the do not call list, the list only applies to commercial businesses, not to political campaigns.

Yeah this number called my cell phone. I did not answer & like above they did not leave a message. I called it back and got a voice message talking about this is a survey. They do offer you to text them back to not be called again. I will just keep my policy of not answering from #'s I do not know. If it is important they can leave a message.

Funny. My sister and I are registered, one to each political party, and each of us got a call within 5 minutes (our numbers are quite similar). Glad I didn't waste time answering it.

We too are on the DNC list, yet this was a political call.  Not sure which party.  Only smart thing they did.  My rule... if you call, you don't get my vote. Done.

Just got a call, didn't answer. No voicemail.  Also to the people above.... do not call registry means nothing to scammers.  They could be using voip and be in a whole other country.  It's just a feel good list that really only keeps legit companies USA from calling you.
