Me and another lady in my office both missed calls from this number yesterday around the same time.  Neither of us answered and the message just said something about "Free for our clients!"

The rest of hte message was cut off.

same thing happened to me last week (calgary). so frustrating cause i tried calling back thinking it was one of my many relatives in the states. don't fall for this scam, fellas

Received a call on my unlisted cell, a recorded message came on in Spanish (which, unfortunately I don't speak) but the last word in the message was 'dinero'. When I tried to call back I got a message that the number is disconnected.

I do not know anything about this caller. It<s been a few times I got unwanted calls from this number.

Called me today some time...phone was off and they didn't leave a message. Got a text saying they had called.

Just received a message from this number as well... I didn't answer! How do these people get our numbers?

Okay, I called Shaw, they said - in my case - because I used to be a Rogers wireless customer and transferred my phone over to Shaw that Rogers may be trying to win back business they've lost.

Shaw also reminded me that there are universal codes anyone can use on their phones (some companies charge for it and some don't) codes such as -

The caller is advised they have to press a couple of numbers to reveal their ID otherwise the call will not go through.

To be keyed in right after you receive the call from this number (or right after receiving any number you want to blacklist for that matter).  Number gets blacklisted and will never be able to call you again.

*60 LISTEN TO VOICEMAIL THEN PRESS 03#3089969989 PRESSING 1 AT THE END; LISTEN TO THE RECORDING REPEAT THE NUMBER TO CONFIRM CAPTURE
This step is used if you could not follow Step 2 and you made a call to someone else first before deciding to blacklist this number.

308-996-9989 called me on my cell.  It was a recording spam.

Fido is owned by Rogers which makes you the target here.

The phone number 308.996.9989 was shown on my call display and since I didn't recognize it, I didn't answer.  It rang me here in Vancouver, B.C. at 4:00 p.m.  It went to vmail stating this was a call for Rogers customers only.  To claim my prize I was to press 1.  Since I am a land line phone Shaw customer, it appears to be a random call to any phone number whether it is Rogers or not to try, I assume, to capture Rogers customers.  This was the first call I ever received.  I will file a complaint with Shaw and see what trace they can perform.  Will consider this harassment if it continues.  I called the number back using a 1 before the number and a recording states that this number is not in service quoting 2CY.  Dialed without the 1 before the number and a recording stated that I had to use the 1 before the number and long distance charges will apply.  Sneaky b*****ds, I bet if anyone actually pressed the 1, it would have been a way to capture that number as being active (I'm guessing here if I was to add some logic).

Got a call form this number,looked it up on net and came across this page... obviously I'm not going to call back.. what a p!ss off.. waste of my phone time, ect...How do these people do their jobs and go home feeling good about themselves. >:|

Just received a call stating I won a prize in the Foothills Lottery.  I spoke to the charity and KPMG (official accountants) this is a scam - do not speak to these people just hang up on them.  Police have been notified.

Got a call from this number 308-996-9989 - didn't leave a message. Looked it up on reverse directory, it is based in Nebraska. I'm a Fido customer.

Just got a call from this number on my Fido.  I didn't recognize the number and don't answer long distance calls anyways.

just picked up... apparently it's cancun premier vacations congratulating you for being the lucky winner of a vacation you've never signed up for and that you'll never see although im sure you'll pay through the nose for .. that's always the beauty of these "free" vacations...

Got a call from this #, said I'd won a prize available only to Bell customers......I'm not with Bell....I have an original number (no one else has ever had this number) and I don't give it out except to relatives or friends.  I've never given it out for business..etc.

area code 308 is in North Platte, Nebraska I don't even know this place...I answered when it said congrad...I hang up quickly, I knew is those stupid calls.  Dont answered or call back it might be a trap that cost u 1000s of long distance charges

Something very fishy with this number.  If they call again I am going to go through the motions to learn more I think.  

This is starting out like that stupid "car warrenty" call that everyone was getting couple months ago.
