12/19/09: A pair of Colorado businessmen are accused of persuading more than 700 businesses in this and other states to pay thousands of dollars for unnecessary net-worth appraisals, Colorado Attorney General John Suthers' office said Friday.
Businessmen Tyrone Tymkovich of Aurora and Sam Levine of Castle Rock ? and their businesses, Corporate Acquisition Group and Global Acquisitions Group ? were named in a lawsuit filed in Arapahoe County that accuses them of convincing small-business owners that potential buyers were ready to acquire their firms and needed an appraisal.
Of the $5,000 the men charged for their service, just $1,000 of the fee was actually devoted to the appraisal. They also are accused of overstating their business success in order to lure clients and of giving money-back guarantees they didn't always honor.
Suthers is seeking restitution for victimized businesses and an injunction against future fraud.

The business brokerage industry is full of frauds. You can decide for yourself if Rick Weber is one of them.

As an investor who's been actively searching for a business to purchase for the last 2 years, I've learned how to spot them and avoid them. Most savvy, qualified buyers will as well. If you're serious about selling your business don't wast your time with these bafoons.

Barry Adams, Rick Webber, Ty Tymkovich(all of Corporate Acquisitions Group, LLC), and Marvin "Randy" Hicks(PBS + Alliance Acquisitions) are all part of the same scam system.
They offer clients a ?100 percent money back guarantee? that they will find qualified buyers for businesses. When clients tried to claim the refund, they deny the claims. Sellers are required to pay a designated fee to the scammers for acting as an intermediary with buyers, a designated sum for hiring an independent firm to prepare a valuation of the business that was being sold, and a fee for successfully matching a seller and a buyer. In order to deny the guaranteed refunds, they provide clients with sham matches. The buyers claim they are qualified but in reality have no interest in purchasing the clients? businesses.

Marvin Randolph Hicks: One count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, six counts of wire fraud via telephone calls and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.

I got this call, and some woman started to say "how does $15 sound...." I dropped an F-bomb and hung up. HEY WEBER. Find another way, man. People hate phone solicitors almost as much as they hate Bernie Madoff.

we also got a call "we have an interested party in your business" and if we're interested to call back at 312-242-3640 ext 701 I'm with you people I get enough junk calls, ironically we do want to sell this business
business owner 2008-06-25 04:13:34 Unknown
Yep, I got the same thing. Called late an night and said he had a buyer interested in my business. In his message he didn't refer to my business by its name. Red Flag on that one. Who are these people and why don't they get a real job?
wont get me 2008-05-13 15:26:03 Unknown
I got the same call from our friend Mr. Rick Webber. The thing I found intresting was that its his voice on the initial answering machine as well as when you hit his extension (701). These nuts should think there scams out just a lil more, but then they would have to be more than a single cell organism wouldnt they?

We got the same call... Corporate Acquisitions Group. Said that they had an interested party. I guess it looks like ALL of us had an interested party, how ironic. We actually went a step further. All I can tell you is look at the logical. We were asked to pay for a marketing "valuation" up front. This "valuation" is supposedly refundable within one year if they can't find a suitable buyer for you. You shouldn't have to pay up front for a marketing report first of all and secondly, a professional marketing report isn't going to cost almost $6500.00. Thirdly, who determines what is a "suitable" buyer for you. In the end, you will be out of your money. Its all fishy and a very bright scam if you ask me. You will be charmed for sure and impressed that you could sell your business for more than you thought you could- don't fall for it. Also, don't believe all the things you see on the internet, its easy to post your own positive feedback.

Got the call and met with their local business analyst. Total scam -- they operate the same way Allliance Acquisitions does - see http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/222/RipOff0222111.htm.
The wanted $8000 for a "business evaluation" that they say will be refunded in a year if they do not sell your business. But read the contract - they are only obligated "introduce" you to a "qualified" buyer or investor who is "interested" in your business.

Received a message on my business telephone (after hours) from Rick Weber saying he had a buyer for my business. When I called back, I got an answering machine, put in extension 701, got another answering machine with a voice that was supposedly Rick Weber, left a message, have not gotten a return call yet.

Tired of them. They are Corporate Aquisition Group, 14 Inverness Drive East, suite G-236, Englewood Colorado 80112 their website is www.cagglobal.com I suggest you contact the local Arapahoe County Courthouse and ask if they cover Denver Tech Center. If you can get a few people together it will help, come back here and ask file a suit. Even if it is dismissed or you only get a few dollars it will reflect on their company until it is settled. Freeze their assets or drop their rating. Call the local newspaper where they are located. They think nothing of bothering you. Why not give them back what they so carelessly dish out. Find their trade industry and give them a black name. Their other phone number is 303-792-2010. Ty Tymkovich has posted on the internet and is at extension 705. I will check back and if someone wants more information, I will get them phone numbers and then home addresses and home phone numbers. GET THE MESSAGE CAG! We are sick of being harassed by phone. We will make you our poster child and then go after more inconsiderate companies. Everything nice and legal. Sharon Contact (Yours)

Repeated calls with recording that they called wrong number. I suggest you record it and send it back to them. If their time is wasted maybe they'll figure out they are wasting ours.
It is time for someone to post their address so we can get a group together to put a lien on everything they and their employees own and then drag them into court. More than one call borders on harassment which is against the law. Write down the date and time they call and keep a record. Then post here. Get their name all over the internet include addresses and employee names. Bookmark this page to return. Thanks "wrong number"
If they waste our time lets waste theirs.

I am filing a complaint too.
yancmo 2007-11-13 01:26:53 Unknown
Recording came on immediately saying my number was incorrectly dialed.
I went ahead and filed complaint with do not call. I'm on the list and I have no business to sell so it was just junk phone call.
I suggest everyone file. It is there for us to use, lets use it. You have to be on the list for 1 month before reporting though.

got a call from that number... same exact message. Had a buyer interested in a business in my area. I've searched and searched google, and all there is of them to find are some PR postings and their own website... which only has one contact number. It appears to be a pretty slick scam. Best case scenario: Rick Webber is the only guy actually working at this 20+ employee business. Not entirely likely...

I will not pick up. They continue to let it ring and ring. I know it rings at least 30x.

B***s***! What's the difference between leaving it with the secretary who answers the phone or leaving it on voicemail that she listens to in the morning anyway. I got one of your calls---- maybe you guys should wait until our message is done before leaving yours. Your message was cut in half.

Got this call a couple of times. If it was legitimate you would think they would call a business number during business hours.
