Just received two calls from this number. It's 4:00 am. The guy says he just received two calls from my number. I told him he must be mistaken because I was asleep. He argued a little and I just hung up. He called back within 2 min and said he received another call from my phone. Not sure who he was but I'm freaked out. He said he was getting ready to get in the shower to go to work. No clue who he was, he never stated a name or company.

Portfolio recovery takes stolen informations, and fraudulent transactions, because they are not capable of anything other than lying, bullying citizens, phone harrasments, because they are criminals and cannot find employments, these groups have a very low I.Q.and may have a mental issues, they will have to keep changing their locations because the LAW ENFORCEMENTS,HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THEM!!!! a warrant of arrests has been issued to some of them.

I have received calls from this number, as well as other Portfolio recovery numbers. My mother (who lives in PA) received a letter about wanting to buy my house here in GA, from someone named Fitzgerald Hall, with an address that Google Map shows in a shopping center linked to Portfolio Recovery associated attorneys, Frederick Hanna and Associates. Is this why you ask about Property in Up and Coming Neignhborhood?

I receive a call from this number every few weeks and they never leave a voice mail. It is annoying bc when they do usually call (every few weeks) they burst call, calling 5 times in a row or a day. They will be blocked

Portfolio can call me anytime they wish , but it will do them no good. My phone doesn't ring on unknown numbers. Besides I do not acknowledge any indebtedness to anyone other than original creditors. If everyone would refuse to pay these vultures, then eventually creditors wouldn't be so quick to do charge-offs. I

I am still getting calls about a car loan that I didn't get paid cause motor blew out of it twice in less than a year and car ended up in junk yard, Original loan for $5000 with only $500 balance left and this was in 1998. If someone was gonna sue me they woulda done it by now. NEVER pay anything directly to a debt collection agency. Your original debt was not with them so you owe them NOTHING. ONLY the original creditor has the means to file suit against you. You can ask the debt collector for information regarding the original debtor and phone information and tell them you will contact that company directly to take care of any debt you owe if it is something you want to get taken care of. It won't get removed from your credit report by paying a collection agency because the original debtor has already written the debt off. The only way to get it removed is to pay the original creditor or wait for the time to lapse were it eventually falls off your report.

These turds have been calling me off and on for the last few years for something that is not mine. This is a debt from 2002 which is beyond the statute of limitations and for a name similar to mine but not exactly the same. They call from multiple numbers all over the US. They are scum eating bottom feeders.

I owe no debts to anyone. Not new or old. I have never paid a bill late. Yet I get mulitple calls from this company per week. From all different numbers. I never pick up. I look up numbers I don't know on the internet and save in my cell phone as Ignore this call. And I am not getting these numbers on my home phone. My cell number is one I never give out for personal reasons as it is a work cell phone. So I cannot imagine where they are getting my name and number.

It's Portfolio Recovery....they have bought out old debts from sold off accounts from the following companys Orchard bank, HSBC bank, and the Best Buy credit card...they have bought accounts written off trying to collect and start the statue of limitations clock all over from falling off your credit report. If you really want to pay and old debt then call the original creditor and ask for payment arrangements and if they refuse then send them a certified letter that they refused to accept a payment on a debt.
Portfolio recovery buys most debts that are two to three years past old and that have been sold two to three times since.
If you answer so are nice and some callers are not...they will leave messages with whoever if they ask, they don't tell the company name though.
They usually call for a few weeks and then stop for a while then in about three months start calling again but with a different number so the call will not be blocked an go through.
They have multiple numbers they have used... 800-772-1413, 866-691-3568, 757-963-7007, 757-251-0484, 757-251-0504, 866-691-3568

I got a call from those butt wipes too.... Sorry I don't answer #'s I don't know.
I figured it was a debt collector cause I owe a few credit cards due to a divorce.
Loss of income, child support, overwhelmed with other financial responsibilities.
They should take the hint and stop wasting everyone's time/money.
Most people just don't stop paying bills because they don't want to pay them.
So Bite Me

If you are served with a complaint, ANSWER it and figure how to defend yourself. If you haven't admitted to them that you owe them money, they probably do not actually have *proof* that you do. If you do not Answer and defend yourself, you are guaranteed to get a default judgement - the Plaintiff will win. Not because they are right, or even because they have any proof, but because you failed to defend yourself. If you don't "show up," they won't need to prove anything - their assertion of the "facts" is enough for them to obtain a judgement against you.
| Candace 2014-04-11 15:12:07 Unknown |
Never leaves a message. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know. Probably a debt collector of some sort.
| Alfalfa 2014-04-11 14:03:42 Unknown |
This is PRA's "Modus Operandi"---and they will stop at NOTHING to coerce an unsuspecting consumer into affirming they "own" a debt, whether it is beyond the SOL or not.

They keep calling and announce they are recording the phone call. I find this alone offensive. Personally, I don't know of any bad debt younger than past 6 years. In Tennessee, anything older than 6 years is beyond the statute of limitations. I suspect, but do not know, that the recording aspect is an attempt to have the person reaffirm the debt and thereby allow them to sue.

This place is a lowlife debt collection place that buys old/statute barred debt and using shady harassment tactics, tries to make 10 to 20 cents on the dollar. Of curse the minute they receive a penny, the statute resets to day one. After that their ambulance chasing division?s people run to the courts filing law suits for the rest. Just block their number.
