foreign accent, could barely understand him. He threatened lawyers and legal action if I did not call him back immediatly. On the second message 2 hours later, he gave the name of a supervisor.

this number called me at work and on my cell phone "Mark Jackson" with an urgent message.  This guy was not from this country and had a thick accent the guy was so forgein I could barely understand him.  He left a very threatening message, when i called him back everything i said was repeated clearly in the phone, so obviously he was recording or something, & said a law suit was filed against me because i didn't pay my payday loan off and _____ cash international (i couldn't understand him, i asked 3 times) filed a lawsuit and is pressing charges or something because they want there money.  I don't have a payday loan. The number is a landline in Inglewood, CA, and the phone carrier is PAC - WEST TELECOMM, INC. registered since 1996.  So I don't who this guy is by said I can only wish you luck if you don't take care of this matter.  Whatever.

I received 2 messages (at work!) from a man who was speaking with a thick Indian accent.  He said that I, or my attorney, should return his call immediately.  He said it was extremely time sensitive.  His name was "Joe Mayers"  (it was very difficult to understand his name)  He said that the number was his hotline number.  He also said that if I don't return the call that he could only wish me goodl luck and that I will need it as the situation will close on me.

Yeah this guy called I did not listen to the message they have tired before. It is about pay day loans. Basically it is a scam so do not give out any personal info. If it was real one you could understand them and two if it was a real law firem they would come in a search. Called from Beverly Hills CA

This number called me at my job definitely a foreigner with a urgent message to return his phone call by the end of the day or Good Luck. I returned the phone call to a Mark Jackson who explianed I had a loan that had gone to collections and that they were the third party collecting on this account. I did indeed have a loan that had been defaulted on so I went on to listen. He told me I had to pay the balance in full or I would have to contact my lawyer because I would be taken to court. This man had all my info so I beleived he was liget. I told him I didn;t have the payment in full so he allowed me to speak to his manager a Mr Joseph Fernandez to set up payment arrangements. I complied with everything thinking I was doing what I was supposed to be. I payed these people over $300, but then something told me to contact my original loan people, and to no avil they never heard of these people and had no record of me paying anthing back even though I had confirmation #'s for all my payments. I then  contacted my back & put a freeze on my account & spoke to the Fraud dept. I explained the situation and they are now investigating this matter.I also contacted the credit beureau to put a fraud alert on that as well because these people had all my information. If you receive any calls from these people hang up Immediately & contact your bank & the credit agencies. I wouldn't wish this on anyone !

i also had a call from joe mayers and he said the same things to me. i have been scared to death and trying to figure out if this is a scam.

This caller, with a definite foreign accent, called for an employee.  He said it was an emergency and for the employee to call back immediately.  We have received several calls like this and they all were a scam.

individual just called to claim he himself was a senator involved with a legal lawsuit against me. I was like what state..after a long pause he said CA - I said oh really...there is no senator for the CA named Larry Adams I then asked for his supervisor's name and he Daniel Stevens - these guys are total BS and don't give them any information - also I don't remember any phone calls that have an echo in it - thus the over-seas call...

On February 2, 2010 I returned a call to 310-362-3162. The person who answered stated he was collecting for a $300.00 payday loan. When I asked him for a date of transaction or transaction number he had the nerve to say "you are one of those people," I pursued asking for a date when he said all he has was affidavit, in which I told him I have knowledge of filling out law forms and know he must have a transaction date and company name. Which is when he called me "ghetto." I asked for a supervisor, he pretended to transfer me, but you could hear him push the key pad and get back on the phone. "Financial Accountability Association" is where he said he was from, and a heavy Indian accent. Not knowing it was a scam I have contacted my bank for statements and proof of no deposit. How do I stop charges from happening when they have my demographic information? This is plain b.s.

I received a Voice message from this number today from a James Anderson. He stated that me or my atorney needed to contact him and if I didn't that it will be against me. If I didn't call them back then he wishes me luck because it is on me. I wasn't sre it was a scam but now I am. The phone number that called me was 213-992-0690 bt he left the 310-362-3162 number on my message. I wish these people would just stop. I will not be calling them. I fell for this before but no more.

Voice mail message left from "Roland Smith" saying there is an action against me.  Said to call (310) 362-3162 immediately on Saturday morning to my office number.  I told him when I accidentally answered last week that my attorney has this, and I called it harrassment.

just got call from them...threatening of course.  Same number as everyone else on this post.  Turned the number over to my lawyer to persue further.

Got a call from a Mr. Shawn Taylor from the Law office of Lawrence Burke at this number funny same number as all the rest of you are getting calls from. HMMM! SCAM I THINK SO! What ever you do just ignore these people they are scum! Praying off good people's misfortune and especially in these hard times. Give me a break maybe next year they will make #1 on the scam list instead of #3. These people have been harassing me. I am sick and tired of this crazy man calling me............This has to stop. I started receiving calls from a man with a very thick Indian accent who was actually rather threatening and almost un-understandable on the message. The message says: "This message is intended for (me), the very second you receive this message I need you or your retain attorney of record (shouting), to return the call. This time is , extremely time sensitive. My name is Mr Hawkins and the hotline to my reception is 310-362-3162. I will repeat that 310-362-3162. Don't disregard this message, do return the call. If you don't return the call (shouting) and I dont hear from your attorney either (still shouting), the only thing I can do.... (whispering) is wish you good luck. This situation will close on you.. goodbye."

I received this same call today- with the very same message/script everyone esle has posted in their messages. Of course this arabic guy's new name is Wayne Huntson. Never heard of an arabic named Wayne- LOL. I will call this guy back and give him a piece of the rude behavior he gave me.And he scremed at me with the mouth of his and calling me at work no less- well he has screwed up and I cant wait to talk to this carpet rider. I have no clue why he is even calling me anyways- so I was late on paying my Mastercard- big deal.

I received several messages from this number as well, but I couldn't understand a word he was saying.   I called the number, he once said his name was David Christopher, another time said Michael Copeland.  It sounded like the same person, with a very heavy indian accent.   He stated the same info others have listed above, but 1/2 of it i couldn't understand.  I asked to speak with someone else in their office, so I could understand what they were trying to tell me.  He got irate and hung up on me.  Glad to see I'm not the only ones getting these calls.  Scary though, if they do have social security numbers.  They are also calling several times the past few days.  How can we file a complaint?  I'm in Indiana.

call my place of employment and left a threating message, the billing clerk heard of this number and told me to google it and it was true these people need to be stop, just wish i would of recived the call.. i wouldnt of been nice,,PLUS IT IS ALL A SCAM SO DONT BUY INTO THIS CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife called them back and told them that I worked for the FBI, and that they really screwed up by calling our house.  They were really freaked out by this, and promised they would never call back again.  They haven't since :)

report to the FTC website.. more and more this sounds like a scam and has to be stopped. The more people report to the FTC with the infomation they have the faster they can be stopped. talk to by lawyer who advised me that the D.A in CA. MAY BE GETTING A CALL SOON

I started to receive phone calls from this same number from a man with a very heavy accent as well, stating the same thing and wish me good luck if I didn't reply.  When I called them back he said he wanted my attorney's number I told him I didn't not have the number at hand and would call him back which I did with the number.  He yelled at me and said he never wanted his number, he wasn't taking it and wasn't calling the attorney.  He said a subpena was being filed with my employer and that I needed to show up in court on a certain date or I would have real trouble.  I asked him where he was calling from he said CA, I live in IL, I told him I had no idea what he was talking about, he said that by now the attorney fees against me were up to $9,000.00 dollars, I said again I have no idea what he was talking about nor did I understand 1/2 of what he was saying.  I called back and asked for a supervisor and they hung up on me.  I called back again and asked him if he was from the united states and to put someone on the phone that spoke english, that I couldn't understand him, he mocked me and told me he wanted to speak to someone for me because he didnt' understand me.  I asked him where he was from....after a long pause in a very errie voice he said from hell and then laughed weirdly.  I told him to stop calling me and he told me to never call the number again....my attorney said it isn't legit

So about 3 or 4 days ago I started getting 4 calls a day with the same horrible messages.  "This message is intended for (me), the very second you receive this message I need you or your retain attorney of record (shouting), to return the call. Then, I received a message from the same dude today, but from 303-214-9057... which I may have answered because I have a lot of friends in that area code. This one went as follows:

"This is call from Federal Department of U.S. Government. My name is David Christopher. The nature of my call is a lawsuit, need attorney and social security number. So contact my number 310-362-3162. You need to contact my number. I'm sorry to say you have to ??????? goodbye."

At this point I am wondering if I could file some sort of suit against them for impersonating a Federal Department of the U.S. I have the messages saved and everything. If anybody has any advice... I'm open to it. I am NOT calling this b*****d back.

find it kind of funny that one message was on my voicemail was a little after 8 on the morning. I live on the east coast the 310 number is an area code in CA. on the west coast which would mean they called about 5 in the morning/ also if you do a google search you will find the same number for a doctor's office in CA.

tHEY ARE NOT LEGIT!!!!KEEP GETTING CALLS FROM A MR JAMES AUSTIN. RIGHT WITH AN INDIAN ACCENT I THINK NOT. YOU ARE NOT A LEGIT COLLECTOR YOU ARE A SCAM ARTIST. YOU PRAY ON PEOPLE'S BAD MISFORTUNE. They are not legit. If you filled out any application online with bank or social information they will hound you. They are scam artist working from India. Do not and I stress this do not give them any information. They will stop calling but it will take a while they will give up. They are calling from all different number so if you get them on the phone just tell them you will call them back and then just dont. screen your calls and see if you can get the numbers blocked if you can. Good Luck. They will call about 6-7 times a day. read my message below and you know why I am so educated in this manner.

Indian speaking man called and demanded i called him back. They are calling from a number outside the country. Second time I have gotten these calls. First time i actually fell for it.My mistake and learned the hard way.  Not falling for it a second time. They scammed me out of over $1000 shame on me. They get your information from filling out PayDay Loan appications online. 1st of all ignore them  and if you do get them on the phone get all there information address, fax number and make them give you documentation that you owe any money. They must provide that in writing if they are legit. Do not fall for it if you ignore them and are just as rude to them they will stop. Start making threats to them and they will go away. Do not be stupid and get scared like i did. Remember get all there contact info and them go after them. They have no right using your bad luck against you nor can they make threats towards you. Document everything.
