Called me a few times.  I did not answer. When I call back it says the number is disconnected. WEIRD!

Phone rings, I say hello, and nothing happens.  I call back the mumber, and get music playing, like, (on hold?)

Sounds like you work here. This is ridicoulds we are people with jobs and families your stupid system is not working. JUST STOP!!!! You are not calling at legal times. I dont think you calling me at 11pm on a Saturday night is legall. STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT!!!!!. Its not very sexy when I am trying to have fun with my husband and you call. JERKS

This number called my desk phone. We are a non-profit organization that deal with sensitive data. No one should have this number (like a telemarketer, collection agency). When they called I said hello and heard myself being recorded. When I called it back it puts me on hold and then hangs up. I looked up the number and it's not listed anywhere. How does someone call you from a non-existing number? Crazy

310-362-3198 is a payday loan company.  The reason it says number not in service is that it is an automated call system that automatically calls numbers on a list.  These systems use one phone number, but many lines to call out on.  So technically you can't call that number back because the only lines that exist are the direct lines to everyone's desk.  It is like trying to call direct to someone in a company and instead getting the receptionist who has to re-route you to the person you are trying to reach.  This is so people don't hold up the lines by calling in for non-business reasons.  There is a big room where everyone is on headsets and the automated system calls for you.  The calls are coded, so if you do not answer, the person at the desk reschedules your call.  They can also code the call to ask DNC (do not call) or CB (call back).  Depending on where you live, they will call up to the hour of the night allowed by law.  The only way to stop them is to answer the call before someone else does, and ask to have your number removed from their call list.  They normally also email, so you can unsubscribe and sometimes that will remove your phone number as well.  If the call hangs up as you answer, that is because the automated system is making hundreds of calls at one time, and if someone else answers before you do, the computer will hang up on your number so there is only one call being handled per person, per line.  The system may call 5 people at once for an employee sitting at a desk, expecting that the odds are that only 1 will answer.  These calls are normally a result of someone requesting information on a payday loan website.  Many of the website partner with each other, so you may go on one website but get calls from another company.  Most websites are not the actual lenders, but the "broker" and they refer you to another company.

Probably poor sham. Watch out for your toll fees or deposit in the account being siphoned out.

I am getting phone calls all the time now.  Even got one last night at 10:32.The numbers I am getting phone calls from are 310-362-3198, 888-798-3209, 818-206-4053.  All tells me the numbers have not be assigned when I try to call them back.  I am on the DO NOT CALL list and it doesnt matter. Why and how can they call from a number but the number isnt assigned?

this number has called me 6 times today (on my cell).  what the hell, man?

I just googled the area code and this is a California area code.  How can they call us but we cant call them?  Can someone answer that? I am on the no call list which I have been finding out doesnt stop anyone at all.

They call - I answer - no one is on the line. When I call the number back, I am told the number is not in service.  I live near this area code and have to wonder if someone is just trying to find out if I am home.   This is spooky.
