Received a call from this number a few minutes ago.  Left no message.

While it appears this number is associated with unscrupulous BS remodeling contractors, everyone should be on the lookout if their number is listed and associated with an address, with the possibility of crooks checking to see if you are home by answering the phone, and if you don't answer, they burglarize the home..  

They called talking about how somebody [from a 562 number] already called earlier in the day and was rejected!

I'm not asking anyone to do anything illegal, like say, calling a person or company that has repeatedly asked you to STOP CALLING and is on the DO NOT CALL LIST, but if you were to call >>  *67 (caller ID block, if you have it) 213-568-3730 OVER AND OVER AGAIN, you might interrupt their OUTGOING call center extensions.

To have fun with it, when they answer you can say HELLO, like you are the person they are calling AND THEN, you could maybe make an appointment, and when they ask you to confirm your address, say, YEAH, THAT's THE ONE.  And then let them go out to XXX ZZZ Street and with an expectation to build a NEW SWIMMING POOL, or an ADDITION, or 40 Windows as one other fed up person did, and then let the HILARITY ENSUE.

This number called me today at 258 pm.  I was on another call and didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer it.  Good move apparently.  These scamming contractor telemarketers spoof numbers local to their intended victims to make it more likely that we'll answer.  I never answer if I see an unfamiliar number on caller ID.

I use to work at the Torrance Court House. There was a retired Military Guy that made it his mission to sue every telemarketer that calls him. He wins all his cases. Seems a good way to supplement his income.

Stupid me, I answered the phone - After a few seconds of me says Hello, Hello... a woman calling herself Veronica spoke up only to butcher my name and further say that she spoke to my husband and the possibility of doing work on the house.  I said we don't have any need for any work done on the house and don't ever call back.

Lets see how long that lasts.  These contractor telemarketers are so persistent.

They keep calling saying the same stuff about a previous call with me which is all lies!
I ask them to stop and they keep calling.

Great.  Another scam contractor calling (according to other posters).  They hung up once they heard my message on my machine.

When the caller ID says "california" that is usually a cell phone call for some reason.

This a***ole will never have a honest job.

It's another fearless contractor telemarketing mill that cares not about the do not call list.


Contractor Telemarketing

My new 7 step strategy for contractor telemarketing.

When the number doesn't come up...
1.Ask them why they are calling?
2.Tell them I have a lot of work that I am currently looking for contractors to do.
3 But I need to finish something, can I call them back in 15 minutes.
4. Tell them I need a phone number to call them back at.
5. If they haven't hung up, ask the person's name and ask if I should ask for them, or someone else.
6. If they haven't hung up, ask them their CONTRACTOR LICENSE NUMBER.... They will most assuredly have hung up by now.

7.Then go to www.DoNotCall.gov and report them!!!

They keep asking for someone with a long name but I have a short name and when I start to say wrong number they just hang up instead of removing my number from the list.

Every time I answer this number the truck across the street leaves. Pretty certain they are waiting for me to leave the house.

Ok, they came out for the estimate 1 hour early, so I told them to get started while I finished my breakfast.  Well the kid never came back, either he knew I was not happy to deal with him or he just got the measurements and will pass on to a more experienced salesman.  Anyways, I think the people calling and harassing me is some sort of cold calling company who then the pass the information to a company as a lead.  Either-way I want these people to stop calling me and hanging up once I ask them to stop calling.  The company that came out is called Gold Remodeling 430 S. Western Ave Los Angeles CA 90020 phone number 213-908-7135.  I will be filling a complaint with the BBB and the do not call registry.  I hope others follow my tactics so contractors stop using this cold calling company and put them out of business.  They are rude and don't care about our privacy.  I only wish I could get my hands on their number and start bugging them with useless crap!!!

I have been receiving calls from the same number for over a year.  Since reporting them to the do not call registry 5 times did not work, I thought I would waist their time by scheduling an appointment with them to replace my 40 windows!  They called back 3 times from the same number to confirm appointment (this is a cell phone the call was dropped with the estimator).  I'm doing this to get the business card so I can report them since I have not been able to get a business name.  I will also allow them to waist their time by giving me an estimate.  Once he is done I will tell him that I don't want to do business with them and wanted to let them know how they feel to waist their time like they did when they call me consistently even though I've asked them to stop calling me.  I think this should be enough of an incentive for them to stop calling me.  I will also report them to the BBB and the do not call registry again.
