I also just got a call from them but missed it. Seems kind of shady

They called my home number looking for my wife, told them 3 times she wasn't here, asked for me by name and then hung up.  tried calling back but it just rings and rings.  who are these people and what to they want?

Called my cell phone and didn't leave a message.

A girl called my cell phone, asked for my wife, just using her first name. I told her this was her husband, to which she answers "oh". I ask who is this? Silence for about 3 seconds until she hangs up on me.  I wonder if this is some sort of verification service that the telemarketers and sms spammers use to verify an active phone number for future abuse.

Can we say sue??? Called me at 11am on a Saturday on my cell, spoke w/ Tiffany from "Publishers Headquarters" when I asked what is that, she said "Don't f***ing talk to me like your crazy" and hung up. I am on do not call list as well. Tried to call back several times, buzy. Will go to bbb.org for address.

They randomly call my cell phone number, and I have missed most of their calls because if I don't know the #, I screen the call -but they NEVER leave a message. Today, I finally answered the phone and said "Hello?" They asked if I was such and such (they said my full name), and I said "How can I help you?", and she said "Well I was going to tell you why I was calling, but you did not have to say How can I help you!" and then hung up. I tried to call it back several times and it has been busy ever since....I guess these idiots have no friggin life and want to just call around to random people. I don't know how they got my # or name, but I will find out! I own a business and I know that cold calling is the WORST form of advertisement! Most people want to shoot and kill telemarketers, I feel sorry for those who make a living as a telemarketer.

Just blow a whistle into the phone.  They won't call again.  This number called my cell 5 times before I finally blew the whistle.  Haven't heard from this number again.

She called me retarded when I told her I wasn't interested. I called her back and called her a c**t when she answered. I hadn't had a call from them in weeks after that, but low and behold they called again today. I would have answered and chewed her out, but I'm in the office.

i was called by the number and hung up on so i just called the number back and a woman answered and i told her what she was doing calling my phone and she claimed they werent a business and that was a residental phone and it must have been her kids.

got a call at 11:20 on october 27 2009 and a lady asked if i was jaymie and i told her no and she told me since i don't know who you are i dont have to F***in S*** and when i called back to talk to a supervisor they just laughed at me so i called the BBB and the FCC.

Called & asked for me by name twice. I asked who was calling. She said Publishers Co. I asked what could I do for you without saying who I was. She said you already have & hung up.

just got a call from them--ignored it, no message left.  tried to call back and the line has been busy ever since.  shaaaady.

The customer service representative kept pumping me for information. They do not ever stop calling.

I keep receiving calls from this number. They keep leaving me messages and since I have pay as you go, I keep getting charged minutes everytime they leave a message. The message starts in mid sentence talking about warranty etc. press 1 etc. I ignored the first one but then they called again, I ignored, they left a message, more minutes were wasted. I heard on the radio this morning that when they call and it's the automated message, press 2 and apparently this will remove you from their calling list. I will try it next time they call. Someone will get to the bottom of this soon enough. I have very strange calls coming in, I never answer if it's not local and I always check the area code on the internet after and so far, I have gotten calls from Jamaica, Oklahoma, California oh and this "car company" calling about warranty, well they call me yesterday and it was a (416)# interesting

I received a call today saying my bank or credit card company entered me in the sweepstakes for PCH.  Verified my name and address(too bad it was my old address).  Said the drawing was to be held on December 31.  The winner would be informed by mail.  The prizes were $45,000, a bedroom makeover, and/or (can't remember) an all expeses paid vacation to Australia.  I said ok thank you, bye.  I filled out a card at an air show for a drawing.  A few friends of mine who also filled out the card received strange phone calls.  I didn't think to ask for the numbers they received them from....

Got a call on my cell.  Not the first time I've seen this number.  No message.

Keep receiving calls from this number and they don't have the courtesy to leave a message.

I used to work for this company! SHADY!!! but anyway, They get your info from when you order things off T.V. they sell ur info to those buisnesses!!! SO BECAREFUL!!!!

Just received a call from this publisher's headquarters or whatever it is saying that I was entered into a drawing to win $25,000, a Silverado, a new dining room set or a trip to CA wine country.  Then said she was sending me a bunch of free magazines for six months and a diamond watch or something, lol.  Asked me to verify my address but that's it (she read it back to me and I just said yes, that's right).  I did not have to give her any personal information like bank account number, social or anything like that (as if anyone would ever give out that information over the phone).  She said there was a small catch: I had to pay $3.95 a week or something for an Us Weekly subscription.  I told her no, my husband just got laid off, not a good time for that.  She said that was fine and I'll be entered into the drawing on December 31 still.  Guess that means I don't get the diamond watch? Haha, darn.  I really have no clue.  I couldn't follow the entire thing.  She was asking me about the weather, my job, what kind of debit card I use and asked how old I was, among a bunch of other random conversation in between all this stuff.  

My phone answered the call for me, otherwise I was going to ignore it.  Damn Pre.  I usually ignore calls from unfamiliar area codes.
