Called today

Call (recorded message) stating that my warranty was expiring on my car. Trouble is, I don't own any cars! FOOLS.

I want these @#$! calls to STOP!

These guys are running some scam to sell warranties for cars.  I b***h them out each time they call and they have never taken my name off the call list.

I get these as data calls, which I cannot answer for some reason.  Quite annoying.

Keep calling my home and cell phone, the kids numbers too.  Wants to sell vehicle warranty.  I am on the do not call list. . .

just got calls from this number on both my cell and work phones. Message left was wanting me to buy a vehicle warranty. I don't know how they got my numbers.

They just called my cell, didn't answer left no message. They also call my home number. I have pressed 1 many times. The last time I pushed what ever it was to speak to an agent and told them I have asked many times to be removed and at that point in my sentece THEY hung up on me.

This #310-485-8954 calls constantly offering to extend warranty on a car I haven't owned in a year. They call even though I'm on the nat'l do-not-call list. I'm calling  the FCC and the Fed Trade Comission to see if I can get something done but in the meantime does anyone know a good lawyer that all of us can get collectively to start a class action lawsuit against this company?

If you call number back and press "1" it supposedly puts you on their do not call list, we'll see...

I keep getting calls from this number.  Hang up type calls!  So annoying!  I have also gotten the auto warranty calls from another number as well!  If you are reading this, take me off your list!

these folks are calling my company phone not listed to me but the company wanting to sell car warrentys. i need a number to call them as many times as they call me. can anyone help.

I get them on my very "private" cell phone.
No message. I do not answer anything unless I know who is calling.

I feel your pain, I get them all the time, I think they are trying to find new phne numbers or update something. I let voice mail do my talking, I can say I get 50 phone calls a week, and no voice mail

I got the same call, and it wasnt on Verizon, it was on another carrier. Its easy to get phone numbers, the format is area code, zone and number. IE 310 is CA, 445 is San Diego and zone is wherever. Its pretty easy to get phone numners, you only have ###-###-#### its pretty easy to figure out the phone nuet sold, the dont numbers, mass e-mails, or in this case, mass phone calls, the people who answer, the people who dont answer get tossed out. I get 10-12 phone calls a day, no voice mail, Im paying off debt, but this is getting back. I turned-off my cell phone and am buying a new phone w/number. Sorry creditors, you getting terminated.

Heres my problem, I dont have a car, (yes, I really do have a car, but its parked at my parents house. I dont drive the car at all, gas prices hit $4.00/gallon, I called it quits and the transmission went out, so I parked the car. SO, let all the phone calls go to voice mail, if they dont leave a voice mail, I call it a "scam". No voice mail, its most likely something _______. Thats how I deal with them, no voice mail, I dont answer it at all.

got the number on my cell phone, didnt answer and no message. Please do your self a favor, let voice mail get all you phone calls. REGARDLESS, of the number. My simple rule, no voice mail, its a call you dont need to answer. If somebody is calling, they are proberly trying to find activated phone numbers to sell, etc. I have no idea how they got my phone number, but it easy, you only have ###-###-####, and its easy to make phone calls with the www. SO, dont answer your phone, yet voice mail get it, if you can block it, do it. I let voice mail answer all my call, I get 90% no voice mail, etc

21st of April and they 310-485-8954 scum just called my cell phone, 7:30-pm, Central Time.  I didn't answer and they didn't leave message. I don't answer anything anymore unless I recognize the number.

missed call from this number...a girl that i work with had a missed call from the same number.  my fiance had a missed call from the number, too.  i am just curious as to whether this is something that verizon is doing?  (thats the common thread with all of our #'s anyway...we all have verizon).  obviously the numbers are being sold from someone, somewhere.  this is beyond annoying.  i am calling verizon right now!

You gave us a link to Snopes.com...  Did you read the page?  The whole page?  The top part of the page you are quoting is an overpublicized and exaggerated story.  the real story is below.

The truth is that 809 is not the only area code that is unsafe in this way, and it is also true that 99.9% of the 809 numbers are safe.  

The $2000 per minute rate is exaggerated, most of the time the amount of money involved is $25 to $100, total.  The 25,000 numbers quoted in the myth are an exaggeration.  

Any time you read a snopes.com page, read the whole page, not just the top.  Snopes is like mythbusters, first they tell you the myth, then they examine it and tell you the truth.  If you don't read the bottom half of the snope.com page, then you walk away with the wrong information.
