Lady with an Indian accent calls and calls and calls, always looking for my boyfriend and wont ever tell me what this is about

This woman said she was calling because I was entered in a sweepstakes by my bank or credit card company and she wanted to confirm my address.  She had my address.  When I asked which bank or credit card company she said it just says debit mastercard or visa.  I just said hmmm.  She then disconnected the call.  I have tried to call back and I let it ring until it is picked up and the person sits silent.  She has since taken the phone off the hook.  I'll keep calling until I get bored.  I can play their game.

I also received this call.  A young woman called, clearly with an American accent.  She referenced a sweepstakes, and began asking questions in an aggressive manner, clearly scripted so as to get me to reply with personal information and not give me a chance to question them.  

I stopped her at one point and said "I don't know that I'm comfortable giving you any more personal information before I fully understand what this is about" after which she promptly hung up!  How rude.  As like others here, I tried to call back and only got a busy signal.  I'd like to lodge a formal complaint but I'm not sure how or with whom.

I received a call Jan 9,2012 at 7pm from 310-539-7194 the lady said do you use a visa bebit card, before she went any further, I told her she's a scam artist & hung up on her.

also they said that i was entered from my credit card company.. supposably for a sweepstakes. bunch of bs. don't give any info to them.!

I just got a call from them, they knew my name. how is that possible if my phone isn't even regstered to me..?

I talked to a woman and she said much of what was said here and knew a lot about me and where I live my child etc... Then I hung up and this number has been calling NON STOP! Im talking 19 times in a row... I feel scared, what can I do about this?

Getting calls from a number I don't know.

I found this by the same Caller ID but my call was from: 310 539-7191.
Caller asked for my husband. He was not in so caller asked when he would be home. I told her that I was his wife but she only wanted to talk to my husband. Call was from a land line in CA somewhere. I asked caller if it was a sales call & asked how did she get our unlisted#. She said that it was not a sales call but didn't answer about how she got our number. I asked again how she got our private number. She only anwsered that it "was not a sales call". When I asked again, she hung up. However, the same number called back in 30 secs. I let the answering machine pick up this time but no message was left. This was weird and I was fixing supper so I programmed the number into my call block function.

Our home number is on both of our State's No Call and the National DNC Registry. Our home# is listed with our bank's Customer Service option that they may NOT give it out to their merchants, ... who used to call us "on behalf of" our bank, . . . but the sales calls would be about life insurance or some other sales pitch. These types of calls were very frequent before I changed status with the bank. But the default is that your number is public to sell as long as you're a customer with the company or bank, etc. Sneaky.

This particular caller today had no business calling us so I call-blocked, as I said. She was unprofessional, not forth-coming. These types of phone schemes are ridiculous.

I continually get telephone calls from this number day and night. It is annoying.

its a tactic that the government(law enforcement) uses to phish people that owe money, warrants, criminal records etc. do not give out any info, name, phone number, age, nothing! just say thank you and nicely hang up.. they will say they will continue to call... let them call you know now what the number is all about..be very very careful!

Just got a call from the b*****d they knew my name and she also called me a bit@#, pisted me off so bad tried to google the info but could find anything.

I am a private caregiver, heard my client speaking on the phone  to a person like she was a friend, I wasn't alarmed until my client started talking about credit cards, Visa, etc.,  I asked for client to hand me the phone which she did, and caller said and I quote: " oh, now don't start come on this call and act like a "b***h" now" , I was so shocked I even appoligized and then realized what she called me and asked her "did you just call me a b***h?, which she said she didn't and I of course began to inquire of which she hung up, I too called the number back and also got a busy signal.   How do these people live with themselves??  Pick on me, thats cool,   I can handle it, but take advantage of the elderly and KNOW thats exactly what their doing,    makes me sick.      Come judgement day I wonder what she'll say then.

Keep getting a 310 # it seems to be a telemarketing sweepstakes scam

Got this call today. Googled the area code while it was ringing, said southern California. Chose not to pick it up. Called the number back immediately and got a busy signal. My iPhone says it came from Lomita, CA. I don't know anyone from this area or do business with any companies there. I assume it was a telemarketer or scam.

I advise no one receiving a call from this number to provide any personal information (even a name) or to make any affirmative statements (like saying "yes").

got a call from this number and it came up as ellis island fundi. missed the call when called back it was busy then said no on ewas able to come to the phone and hung up

Got a call from that number on my unlisted cell phone, also.

Keep getting a call from this number I've never seen but luckily I haven't picked up.
