They call 5x a day every hour. They are asking for a donation for Cancer, They are not organization that is know to me. Can't they take NO for an answer,

First takes forever to answer then sounds like they are reading something then just totally stop when you say no.

Received a call today and was insulted by the woman soliciting for money.Highly doubt this was from a legit charity.

Same caller ID: State of CA DCA, but a 310 area code, so certainly not a state agency. Hung up when my machine picked up. I called back. Silence and it disconnected after 30 sec.

LISTEN CAREFULLY: I you want to stop these folks you have to do more than just complain on internet sets. If we care about each other it's worth a few minutes to follow up. (1) I googled, "state of ca dca" and found it was the Dept of Consumer Affairs. I called THEIR 800 # (800-952-5210) and confirmed that they don't have local 310 numbers. I advised that I just wanted to give a supervisor or dept a heads-up that an organization has spoofed their ID and might they want to know about this to take action. They did and advised I call the CA Attn Gen Office (800) 952-5225. Rather than file a complaint (that's not what I wanted to do -- wanted to give THEM a heads-up that their agency is being spoofed) I spoke w/a person who was interested and took the 310 number. He informed me that these companies simply purchase throw-away phones in the store and enter any info they want into it to display whatever they want (state of ca, dca, for example) and those phones are more or less untraceable. I advised him that I'd rather HE have the phone number with their federal resources to investigate these guys as I can do nothing. He agreed, too the number, and created a case for it.
This all took about 15 minutes. It was an example of my taking responsibility to change things. Nothing may come of it, but I can know that I did what I could....just posting on these sites informs each other of what we already know. Doesn't fix the system. Let's all work on that, shall we?

Same as above messages.  Identified as State of Calif but just calls, does not leave message,  these calls are annoying.  I am on the "do not call" registry but the unwanted calls continue.

Just got a call this morning from the same number, showing "State of CA DCA." Didn't answer and no message.

When caller ID said "State of CA" I waited the 3 seconds to talk with the caller.  She ignored my pointed question, repeated three times "Are you a State agency?".  Then I hung up and blocked her number. September 24th at 11:00 a.m.   Pheh!

They just called that they are calling from a cancer bottling service. I just hung up. The caller ID said State of Cal DCA.

Caller ID was the same as Ted. Call Call came in at noon today.
