Called again, this time a heavily-accented male voice saying he wanted the company info for "annual listing" in "manufacturer news" (as far as I could understand). Sounds suspiciously close to the "update your online local yellow pages listing" cramming scam so I flatly said no and hung up on him.

I never give my name anymore when I get a call from a number I don't know or if it's blocked. But I do jot down the phone number if it shows up and I google it. Just got a call from this number. Nobody on the other end! Yay! I'll know who's calling next time.
