It's so strange how as a service company we do all we can to garner new business, but let someone call us and it's fishy. Go figure..get real. Commerce is the American way...If you don't want to be solicited or sold anything leave the country. You were obviously trying to sell your services whatever it might be to someone. geez!!

Got a call today, from Bid Clerk, wanting my fax line to fax over some "bids". Suuure. I told him no thank you. Must be a sketchy marketing firm.

Constructworks or Bid Clerk is a real business that reports upcoming construction projects to their clients. You may or may not be interested in receiving this type of information from them but they are a reputable company.

Bid Clerk
Still calling asking for someone who retired over four years ago.

Someone called from this number and said they were requiring information on our copier in Purchasing. I immediately was on alert as we have a contract. I asked who they were working for as I knew the firm we contract with and they immediately hung up. Accent was very strong - They never identified who they were with.

If they call you it means they are checking city or county records for approved building projects and are fishing to get the job. obviously based on what you said if someone posted building plans for bids they would know why the company was calling and would not be posting here. AVOID companies like this as they are rarely local and will resell your job to another contractor at a profit without lifting a hand, which in the final analysis means you paid too much. AVOID.

This company fishes through building department records looking for recently submitted or approved jobs and contact the owner or developer to bid on the job.

I also use them for my construction company. They actually have really good customer service, so next time they call just pick up and tell them that someone must have accidently used your number for their account, and they'll take you right off.

They called me too. I know them, it's a Bid Clerk Company. Theit site is www.bidclerk.com
The generate construction projects and post information about them for bidding, though in order to get blue prints or detailed info, you have to subscribe.I used them for my company. There is also a section for homeowners where they can post their home project for contractors' bidding (not sure about the fees for homeowners).
If they call You, that means You posted Your project for bidding on their website or You own a construction company and they want You to subscribe :-)

Company called BidClerk
| Bruce 2009-10-01 21:38:38 Unknown |
No, it's not fishy. Somehow you got on a bid list for construction. It's a company contractors subscribe to and get leads from for "their" fee. Your number may nave been mistaken for someone elses.

These people call here on a regular basis wanting to know the bid schedule. I have no idea what they are talking about. Left her name and Bid Clerks # 312-423-3900 but she called from ConstructWorks 312-380-4821.
I think they are selling something and it's really fishy!
