They called twice a day, starting December 2011. I never answered, they didn't leave any messages. They started calling again today. I am on the do-not-call list, but Canadian registred charities, for example, can still call you.

The guy said his name was DAVE and began to yell at me when I was asking him questions. He said he didn't want to give me info since I was a stranger and I played along with him saying I don't give info to strangers. Then he asked me for my name and I repeated I don't give strangers info. And he was rude and obnoxious. And I kept asking him questions and he wouldn't answer them yelling at me that I was wasting his time and I played along saying then why are you yelling at me? and why are you not letting me ask you questions? He had nothing to say!! do not give your info people!!!

Get their calls - 416-628-4562 - at least once a day, sometimes, especially now it's the Christmas season, twice a day. Followed Monkey432's link to the Do Not Call list today after months and months of procrastinating.

Cannot believe the number of scam 'fundraisers'. Most are now using local area codes to avoid the 1-800 series and getting caught. Some of the newer phones (Panasonic for one) have the option to block whomever you wish if the Do Not Call registry misses it.

I two get these calls at least 3 times a day. Have gotten my self on the Canadian Do Not Call List. Most convenient way to stop them is to make it known. Thanks to all the posters. If we ALL do it we have a better chance of getting these annoying fraudsters caught.

I received a call today and did not answer. I also received a call during the week from another number 333 349 7345 calling me cousin... triying to get info.. they mentioned my last name and said that called from other country.. I said,.. sorry dont have family outside... and they started insulting me.. I hung up on them...

They called me.  Supposedly about Toronto Police Widow and Orphans.  The caller (with a fake southern accent) tells me he's helped "thousands" of people by getting donations.  Ok, so I check - 38 Toronto officers have been killed in the line of duty from 1901 - 2002.  So by his logic, that would mean each officer had approximately 30 children, each.  Ok.  And anyway, a pension and insurance should provide for slain officer's families.

These people are liars, and stupid.

This number has called my home phone daily for weeks and different times early in the morning to late afternoon (so far). They never leave a message when the answering machine picks up.  According to 411.ca the number is a landline in Toronto, Ontario. The registered service provider for this phone line is GT Group Telecom Services Corp. There is no further detailed information about this number that I could find.

I have received several calls from this number, until finally I decided to record a voice message that said "Hi it's so and so(first name only, leave a message). Now I am getting messages with someone saying hello hello". I never pick up the phone when these guys call since I know they are not legitimate.

This number calls me relentlessly.  I do not answer. How do you block numbers like this from calling?

I finally answer cuz I'm cranky and feel like telling whoever it is to go pound sand.   I say hello about 4 times until I hear something along the lines of  - sorry we're so busy but please stay on the line and someone will be with you soon, or you can hang up and we'll try you again later.  WTF???  They call ME and want ME to hold???  a-holes

A man called this weekend about selling tickets for the Toronto annual police games this October 16.  I was at my computer so I decided to google the event. after I refused him business and hung up, i Kept reading and found out that the only annual police games were listed for Oct 3 2009 and oct 16 2010! Not even the Toronto police association website listed any events for oct 16 2011 so, the man was trying to sell OUTDATED EVENTS!!

The internet helps to crosscheck these scammers.  Just my advice!

A woman called and asked for my dad, and when I asked who she was she said it's on behalf of the "Toronto Police Athletic Association", but also said something about "recording a call for the..." said association.  It didn't occur to me then to ask why she'd even record this call, but I told her that dad wasn't here anyway.  Not the first time we got these people, but to record a call from us is something that doesn't sit right with me at all.

Police widow's and orphan's funds do not solicit via phone it's all handled "in-house" (to the best of my knowledge) ..... i suggest you report this to the Fraud Squad .... i tried to block the number....it doesn't work.  And ya I get calls at all hours of the day, night

Got this call this evening claimed called from Toronto Police Widow and Orphans saying there will be fund raising in the coming weekend at Rogers Centre and see if I will be doing any donation to them.  I simply said we will not be available and asked to be removed on their list.

the guy speaking to me was intoxicated. he kept slurring all his words and when i ask him if he was sick he couldn't understand me and after said he had a cold so i then hung up...

I also keep getting calls from these people. The second time around i thought the person was a friend of mine that was playing a trick.....so strange they siad that they have an event going on at the rogers stadium at a certain time and i told them i might be able to show up and buy the tickets. They kept insisting that i purchase the tickets from them so i can save $5.00 up front......makes me feel a bit suspicious

Why not police or some government agency take against this man. I wonder why he calls? Is he not a  criminal?

15 mins ago, got the same deal most ppl here got, TP widow and orphans donation for slain officers, whatever, except for me the lady was courteous.  Still denied her my business.  Wish i remembered her name, but she said something about the past "125 years", whether it's about the donation company or slain police history she was talking about.  I didn't even think as much as SillyLiars did (comment before mine), but just the mention of 125 years of whatever rang my BS meter.  But hey, even ppl back in the day were trying to make a buck, right?

i know same here they are annoying.....someone should seriously report these numbers.

I received a call today looking for  Mr.___   (clearly looking for Mr. Last name). I asked who was calling and that I would take a message. He told me that he would call back again.  When I realized it was a telemarketer of somesort, I told him to take our number off his list and not to call back again.  He was so rude.
He said "Look, I was calling for Mr.____ , so I'll talk to him and let him decide, not you! "   I was so shocked and asked who I was speaking to, he hung up on me.

How do we get rid of the caller?

I got a call from this number last night at 9pm asking for either of my parents.  When I asked,"Can I help you?", the guy asked me if I was Mrs. ___.  I repeated, "Can I help you?" and he asked again if I was Mrs. ___.  When I told him I was not Mrs. ___, he said, "okay, I'll call back another time."  I told him that they are not interested and he just said that he would call back another time.  If they were a legitimate charity, they would have, at least, mentioned why they were calling.
