I've been getting these messages too. Has anyone gotten them that does not have Sprint? That might help narrow it down, if it's only affecting one carrier, although that doesn't make much sense how.

I received this text this morning at 8:33 am Central Time:

"tele@bof-america.com: B Of A. Call 312 492 4053"

Has anyone else received a new debit card in the mail recently from the real Bank of America?

I find it odd that I received this text less than a week after receiving a new debit card and letter from BofA citing security concerns over my old debit card account number.

Coincidence?  I think not...

Have you called Sprint? I wondered if it made a difference.  Don't want to call my carrier and spend time discussing if they can't do anything. :( I also have Sprint.

Got the same text this morning and ALMOST fell for it.  Another clue is the message indicates "your debit card # starting with..." very standard starting numbers which no bank would ever use.  Generally is the "ending" numbers.  On top of it, I do not have a Debit Card with Bank of America and haven't for many years now. I called it but did not enter any information at all and generally this should have routed to an agent which it did not.  SCAM!! Some will fall for it I am sure and their accounts will be wiped out.  I also have Sprint and this morning is the first time I received this.

I keep getting text messages from this BOA email address, tele@bof-america.com, boa417@info51.com, boa@info1.com, @info2.com, and so on. These are coming in every two hours or so and I have no idea how to stop it. I have Sprint as a carrier, not too sure if it is just them or not.

What carrier do any of you have?

I know with sprint, if you go into your account under preferences at the bottom you can block text messages from a certain domain. ie. @info1.com. So far, ive just been adding those domains to my block list, but seems they have multiple domains setup.

Also, i just got a mass text message sent to 305 other people ,by phone number, which i can see all the numbers it was sent to, tell me i should download Tango. UGGGGGG! So over all these spam messages!!!!!!

Another reason it's a scam - the Bank of America NEVER officially refers to itself as BofA or BOA.  The name is Bank of America.  The stock symbol is BAC.  That's it.  (I work there and have been read the riot act for using BofA)

just got a text that only said B Of A Call: 312 492 4053......replied the standard STOP, and got no response.....any real company would have this sent from an automated system that would at least respond even to say it did not understand what I sent it.....so this is indeed fraud.

I received a text from this number.  The text said, info@bofa-info.com: Call 13124924053 Now.  You Attention Is Needed.  Bank of america is BOA, not BOFA, so I didn't call.  Don't do this.  It is fraud.

The text I received from this number said it was from Bank of America and my debit card had been compromised. When I called the number back, they wanted me to enter my debit card number.
