I received their message on my two home lines this morning.  Since I use SDGE they were a bit out of their calling area.  after searching found this blog.   Thanks for your comments!

This is a ,"slam" call trying to get you to change your untility service. They're claiming to be ComEd....not true, ComEd does not make soliciting calls!  Rate is twice as high as ComEd.  If you agree and sign up, then try to go back to ComEd service, they charge you $100.  Hang up!

I do not answer phone numbers I don't recognize.  They left no message.

It's a call center in the Philippines claiming to be doing work for spark energy.    I work in the comed call center on the phone lines. It is definitely not comed even though in my case, it seemed like they were trying to confuse me.
for the record, I will reiterate what I tell my friends. I do not have an informed opinion on whether one plan is better or worse than another.  Do your homework and see what is best for your electricity needs.

In my case I'm on real time pricing but that would be completely inappropriate for some and very beneficial for people with my exact energy usage patterns.

Just to add to my message, I called Com Ed and reported them.  Com Ed wants to know of these calls. The CSR who took my call wasn't able to trace the number, but she took down all my information and was going to make a report on it.  So please let Com Ed know if you get these calls.

got a similar call.  sounded like they where comed competition like old days with alternative long distance sales companies

They called and said they were with "The Power Company".  I asked the real name of their company and he insited it was "The Power Company.  Sounded like a boiler room using non american callers.  I hung up.

I received a call from this number.  They said they were calling for Com Ed and they were the power company.  They told me there would be a new line item on my Com Ed bill.  Then they told me I had to sign a 24 month contract, no hidden fees, etc.  I hung up on them.  The would not give me their actual company name, just that they were the "power company".

Person calling did not identify themselves or asked who I was.  Was attempting to get information about my electricity credit.
