The caller asked for "Patty Jones," a person I do not know. I have received calls for years asking for Patty Jones, so instead of telling the caller that she had the wrong number, I asked her to identify herself. She told me she was calling from the "Visa/Mastercard Service Center" and that her name was Brenda, so I asked for a last name. She told me her last name was McVay, and I asked whether it was spelled like Timothy McVeigh, after which she spelled her name "McVay." Then I began to tell her that I did not want to receive any more calls and before I could tell her that there was no Patty Jones at the number, she simply hung up on me. I called the number back and got a recording saying that the number is not in service. So this is clearly a scam because there is no other reason to fraudulently display a fictitious telephone number on caller ID.

Get calls from this number 2 - 3 times a day sometimes but no one ever there.

Received several calls from this number when I am not home. Doesn't leave a message, calls and hangs up when I don't answer. I am on the no call list, so if it is a boiler room scam artist, he or she is facing problems with the US Government. When I call the number is is constantly ringing busy.

knew my name and asked if i wanted to lower my interest rates. said he was calling on behalf of my credit card company. sounded like a young guy, obviously not a professional and not my credit card company. he goes by the name of kenneth. scam to get your account number. beware of this caller.
