These bs text i get from this # better stop. calls like this are between the hrs of 8am and 9pm. WTF why and i getting them at 1148pm.

I just got this text. it is 2:17AM!!!!! Not only am I ticked that I got a SPAM text, I am livid it came this late.

This is a scam coming from a wireless phone in the Chicago area. I advise calling the police to have a trace route done to have them picked up for fraud. Probably got your info from a phishing virus on your computer. You may want to take your computer in and have it checked for malware.

I forgot to add something-the scammer used a computer program called an SMS blaster. He entered his message on the screen, clicked Send, and it went out to millions of cellphones at once without entering a single number. If you reply, you are added to his contact list, so he can scam you and YOUR contact list again in the future. Just to be on the safe side, check your phone bill-you might have been charged a premium rate for the SMS.

Walmart will not send you an SMS. In order to really win the $1000 card, you have to buy something in person at one of their stores, and follow the instructions printed on your receipt. Then if you win, they will send you the card in the mail. This is how you can be sure that you are dealing with Walmart and not a scammer.
If you received an SMS, this is from a scammer trying to cash in, because: he is not following procedure, he is telling everyone that they won, he is giving all of them the same entry code, and using his own website instead of Walmart's.

So the SMS is a lie. The scammer doesn't have $1000 giftcards to give away, but he's saying he does so you will send him your money and details for one. Then he empties your bank account and steals your identity. He can use the SMS to install malware on your phone, so he can steal not only your information to rob you, but also rob every cellphone owner on your contact list.

Delete the SMS, and have your service provider block premium SMS, international calls and third-perty providers, so you never get any more of these messages.

How was I selected for this prize and if it is legitimate how do i claim my $1000.

There is a giveaway from Walmart, but you have to buy something from them then follow the instructions on the register slip. Then if you won, they would send you the card in the mail. The SMS is from a scammer. He will ask you for money up front and send nothing in return, or install malware on your phone to steal your identity. The link in the SMS doesn't look like it came from Walmart-I wouldn't trust it. Do not reply, just delete it.
