My mom called me worried because she got a call from this number about me. If they can manage to find a way to contact my parents why not find a way to contact me? I did call and leave a msg just because I did have a checkbook stolen from my car. Even though that account had been closed I was told someone could still try and use those checks so I'm curious as to whether or not I get a call back!

Sounds more like you got a call from a extortion scammer.

Yeah, you're right about one thing - you ARE wrong.  No one is called and told ahead of time they'll be arrested/served a court summons/take your pick.  Nice try - trying to pre-emptively scare consumers!

I received a call/voicemail from "Z????(sounded like "Zendra" but could be Sandra) Washington" stating she was from Legal Mediations for Fraud and Workers Checks"  stating she was calling me because my number was affiliated with someone named Maria McKinley who was supposedly under investigation for a criminal matter. The thing is, she did not hang up and I overheard other calls. Creepy. I am ignoring this as I have no clue as to what she was talking about, and apparently neither did she.

This number called my brother and said that he was going to be arrested for a bad check for a payday loan. I told him yeah right and he didn't pay. I feel so bad because he called me from jail because he was stopped for a traffic violation and had a bench warrant. When he called me from jail he told me it was for a bad check for a payday loan. So not only is he in jail but now it's going to cost my family and I more than what it would have cost just to help him pay it back. Boy was I wrong
