Received the "card deactivated" text. Called my bank customer service and they said it's a scam and to report it to the police. I did, but my municipality doesn't have a data base of "suspicious numbers".
I was able to find out that it's a Kirkwood exchange.

I recieved a text from this number saying my "card was deactivated". I didn't call the number back but rather searched the number online to find this page that confirmed my suspicions. No doubt it's a scam.

I received the same message on the cell phone issued to me by my employer. I don't have a debit card associated with this phone number.

Received the same message from the same number. Did not call back, but called the debit card phone number. Was told there was no block on the card. Scam for sure.

This left me a text that reads: "The Private bank alert. Debit card locked. Call 314 779 0136 to unlock it." I had no idea what this was about, but had received a similar text (possibly from a different number) that told me my debit card for Fifth-Third bank had been locked. I don't have an account with Fifth-Third bank nor this anonymous bank to which this newest message referred. I called the number back to see what would happen, and to see if I could tell them to leave me alone, but only got an automated voice message that told me to press 1 to reactivate the card but nothing else. I just hung up because it all seemed suspicious, and I didn't want to risk doing anything potentially harmful to myself or anyone else.
