She called my job today stated that warrant has been issued. Stating that i committed fraud and that their coming to my job to arrest me. I paid some of the money not all....I owe 253.00 and i told her that i couldnt be arrested for that...she's rude and disrespectful you cant talk and that shes the only there...ARE THE REALLY A LAW FIRM??????????

These are fraudulent calls - they are scumbags who bought your information from any loan you may now have or had in the past - usually pay day loans. I paid mine off years ago and they are now calling me again. just laugh at them and say, please do come and serve me, and I will have the local sheriff's meet you here. That is good for a few days anyway. they harrass me at work, at home, on my cell and most recently they called my 72 year old father and harrassed him!!! I have a loan out through a car company and my dad was a personal reference, I think the car loan company sold my information. They are trying to say I owe a payday loan from over 10 years ago! Don't be a victim!

I received a phone call at 9:37am (CT), in which a voice mail was left on my parents? home answering machine from a woman named Karen who claimed to be from Barnes-Smith & Associates. The caller ID on my parents? home phone showed the number to be 314.839.3979. However, this woman named Karen asked me to call her back at 314.839.0027. I returned their call to the 0027 number from my cell phone at 9:45am (CT). A woman, who would not give her name, said I could not speak with Karen and then hung up on me. Then I started doing research due to the stranger nature of that phone call.

    A search for Barnes-Smith & Associates resulted in leading me to a web site called barnessmithassociates.com which describes a cost management company and not any type of collection company. The web site says the best way to reach them is by calling 575.993.3988. The information for this number kicks to a Verizon Wireless mobile phone number in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The web site also shows a company address of 2744 Custer Way, Las Cruces, New Mexico, 88011. This address kicks to Eric P. Barnes-Smith in New Mexico. After doing a search of the phone number I was asked to call back (314.839.0027) kicks back to a place called Smith-Klien & Association at 3820 Parker Road, Florissant, Missouri, 63033. After researching that address I get a ping to two people named Davidra & Reginald Smith. I took the liberty of trying to call 314.839.3979 and talked with a woman, obviously the same one earlier, and she said, ?why do you keep calling here?! you keep asking for Karen! we want to know if you have a warrant. It does not matter whether you talk to Karen or not! Are you some type of stalker?! Don?t call here anymore!? I then tried calling the 575.993.3988 number and an older man answered the phone and I asked if he was Barnes-Smith & Associates and he said he was and I asked what he does investments. I asked if he does anything with warrants and he said no; just capital investments.

A debt collector isn?t allowed to make threats that they don?t intend ?or aren?t permitted by law?to carry out. For instance,  a debt collector can?t issue a warrant for someone?s arrest, and not paying a debt isn?t a crime.  Don't let them bully you!  Let his lawyers know that they are harassing you!  Good luck! :)

i received a call from 314-839-0027 burns smith a**. from monica . looking for my husband and he is working wont tell me anything. My husband is going through chapter 7 bankrupsy so i gave her lawyers #. i know all his bills where put in bankrupsy he does not owe anyone now. But she said she was sending cops to his job for him. What should i do? can she do that? I have MS and she upset me so bad i feel so sick now!

I have received 2 calls from this company today.  One with the 0027 number, and another at 314-839-0037.  The calls were received 9 minutes apart.  When I looked up the second number, it was for a salon somewhere in Missouri.  No messages were left.  Clearly this company is using illegal collection tactics if they are actually collecting a debt.  I plan on contacting my attorney general's office, as well as the office of the AG in the state of MIssouri.  I suggest everyone else do the same, as their behavior is against our rights, as well as illegal.

I got a call from this number and talked to a lady named Liz Dickerson or Dixon not sure what she is using now...told me that I was facing theft charges for a loan I got years ago and was very rude to me so I hung up, I got a call back a few days later from a "woman" named Monica Johnson and she was HORRIBLE!!! She knew my way to much about me for my comfort including my bosses name and said that she was having the Sheriffs come to my job to pick me up! I'm glad I decided to look this up because these black girls are very ignorant and not very smart at all especially the Monica girl. I called my lawyer and they told me to ignore every call I recieve from.

I have received several messages from this number.  Each message gets more threatening than the last.  The messages are from a Liz Dixon from Burnes Dixon Associates, not Smith Klien.  Luckily, I researched this number before calling them back.  I guess we will see what happens next.  Doesn't sound like a legit company.

I also was threatened with going to jail by Monica johnson. Everything I read online tells me that this is NOT going to happen, but it is a scary situation. Deandre, can you tell me how this situation was resolved for you?

If they have the wrong number tell them that way they have to stop calling you. Otherwise the calls will just continue because they will think your the right person. I was getting calls from them earlier last month everyday until I told them I wasnt the person and I havent gotten another call since then!

I get the same.  They ask for someone else and I'm sure they want you to get fed up and call the number to tell them no one is at this number.  Then they have you.  It is a collection agency from Las Vegas.  They have been playing this game forever and I'm not giving in!!

MOnica keeps calling me she is a very rude lady i only owe them 90 now and shes really threating me. what can i do about her.

They keep calling and telling me that they are putting me in jail and hanging up on me. This is the most unprofessional calls I have ever had. I have a heart condition and this harassment needs to stop now. Does anyone know who to call to make this stop because if something happens I would like to press charges against them?

I received a call from this company about a payday loan from a woman named Monica Johnson who was very rude. She said I owed for 3 checks and wanted to know what I wanted to do about them. I told her that I would pay them and then she wanted a credit card number. I explained to her that I don't have a credit card and she started getting very rude again and talking over me while I was trying to explain to her I needed her to send me proof in the mail to pay it and I would send a money order. She just hung up on me. I called back and explained to her that I was not in good health and since I had a few heart attacks last year that I have a memory problem but I would be glad to pay if it is something that I owe and she told me she doesn't have to prove anything or give any receipt and she will only take payment by credit card but since I didn't have one that she was just going to have me but in jail for 3 counts of fraud. Then she said "I'm just going to go sign warrants to have you put in jail since you don't want to work anything out." I tried to tell her for like the 5th time that I did want to work something out and make payments but she just hung up on me. A couple of weeks later a woman named Nicole Wallace called me from the same number so I tried to return her call but the woman named Monica Johnson answered and refused to transfer me and would not let me speak to anyone else and just said that there are 3 warrants for my arrest and that they still didn't want to work anything out that they just wanted me to go to jail. I called the sheriffs office and they told me that there was 1 warrant for me to go to court and that I could come by and pick it up this week because I had already missed the court date and have it rescheduled for another time.

I've been receiving phone calls on my cell from this number for someone name Sylvia. I've had this number for 5 years and am clueless who Sylvia is or what claim that involves her. Called the number back and a lady answered. Was very rude, put me on hold, asked my name again and asked me what Sylvia's last name was. She abruptly told me there had been a mistake, they had the wrong number. They have caller id since she asked if they called the number I had called from. Then hung up.

Received a call from this # today, a female who just said she was "with mediation"....was extremely rude and unprofessional towards me, regarding a payday loan I had taken out last year that needs to be paid. I advised her I spoke with a man one other time from her company who said the same thing, and advised her I did not make a payment to them when previously contacted as I have NEVER received any sort of confirmation or documentation from their company that confirms I am paying them for a dept I owe to World Financial, and when I advised this woman of this, she told me "she wasn't the one to get rude with" and would call for a warrant against me....called me names and refused to agree to send me any sort of confirmation of payment. Needless to say, I will be paying World Financial directly, and will curse this company into next week if they call me again....and then will have the #s blocked :o)

They keep calling my number asking for someone else!! The gal is crazy - she screams and hollars.  Calls me bad names and hangs up.  I  would love to report her to someone!!!

The call is from Barnes Smith and Associates and they are a collection agency.....They call me constantly! I have told them several times that I am under the protection of the US Bankuptcy Court and they just don't get it! So now thay can call my attorney!

someone called my mother and said that i was going to jail from this office when i called back i got a lady that gave the phone to some guy when i asked what this was about he said a check for a payday loan called missouri loan center from 2007 i told the guy i payed this to smith klein and a**. in 2008 and i had proof then this man got very rude and went off to the deep end [if its not payed i will have to turn myself to the police] i called the company that i payed and talk to steve walters and he was just as rude he wanted more money when this account was settled both company or scams DONT PAY THEM A DIME PAY WHO EVER YOU OWE DIRECT....I WISH I DID

314-839-0027 keeps calling my phone number saying they are "Barnes Smith & Associates" and want me to call back about a claim against me......Filed BK in 2009 and now they are trying to collect from me....Let the Lawyer handle it. Also, sent a letter to States Attorneys Office to let him know that everyday, 4 x a day they are calling and harrassing me and that I am under the protection of the US Bankruptcy Court to see what he will do to them.

I returned the call 2 December and requested no more calls, stating that we do not know an Eduardo Cano.  I was told that our number would be removed from their list.

Ever since, we have received calls for someone named EDUARDO CANO (I am not sure if that is the correct spelling).

Yesterday (ll November 2009), Smith Klien and Associates  made two calls to our home number:

First at 2:03 p.m. from telephone number 1 314 839 0027  (no message left)

Second at 2:52 p.m. from telephone number 1 314 839 0037 (no message left)

This morning (12 Nov. 09) a Ms Taylor called at 11:18 a.m. and left a message for Eduardo Cano, or his legal representative) to call her.

I returned her call and started by saying we received two calls yesterday, and she immediately denied this, saying: "I only got the number from the internet today" yet the same number 1 314 839 0027 called at 2:03 yesterday (as recorded on our telephone).  She then hung up on me.  I called back, and she answered thus: "Okay, what do you want to tell me?".  I started telling her that she did not need to be rude, but again she hung up on me.

I was very interested to read this comment, having come online to find out about the company Smith Klien & Associates.

My search led me to Smith Klein and Associates but the receptionist pointed out my mistake by saying that the company I wanted used the spelling KlIen, instead of KlEin, in their company name.

My reason for conducting the search is because of telephone calls from the (314) 839 0027/37 numbers.

Because of this behaviour, and because we are fed up of receiving calls from people lookoing for Eduard Cano, I investigated further.  It now seems that this company really is bogus.

They say they are Smith Klien and Associates they are fraud Regional Smith is a con man and was fired from the real Smith Klein and associates notice the i and e is backwards in this company number he was fired for inappropriate behavior on the phone to me and my son my son did pay off the dept with Smith Klein and associates where Reginal worked and now it is paid in full and he is trying to tell us that that company was a fraud and he is the original owner of the dept.. he is not, so do not let him get any info from you.. call the prosecuting attorneys office .. tell them you are going to and they will leave you alone because he is a a fraud and they are the last people they want to contact..
