I have received this call and others for the last couple weeks.All say basically the same thing.Its all a scam.Last year I (ignorantly and stupidly)applied for a couple of payday loans online.That's how they got my info so they called me by name and 2 of them had my ss# and address.I received a lot of these calls last summer and fall.Well we had it out over the phone after I found out about them and told them to come to my house for a ready-made a** kicking.That deterred some of them. I then looked up the # to my  local police dept. criminal fraud division and I would call the number the fraudulent a***oles left for me to call back.(you almost always get a recording to leave a message).I would leave the number to the police dept. and tell them it was my attorney's number.The past couple of weeks is the first calls I received since last fall.

He said the same thing to me today.

Brad called me today and said that he was filing a lawsuit against me and sending information to my job.  Said they have me on bank fraud, theft, and some other charges.  I asked him to tell me when this "loan" was taken out and he said that he couldn't give me specifics.  He said that it was in 2013.  

Me too, same thing......threatenting tone.  I just love how they call and give you absolutely no information, no company name no nothing and if you call back, you still get no information, always very vague.  Now he is calling me at work.  I happen to be the one who answers the phones and I told him he has the wrong number to stop that.

The Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) has received several reports of possible scams conducted by individuals claiming to represent Cash Advance America and Advance America Payday Loans.

One Washington consumer reports that he has received multiple harassing collection calls from a person claiming to represent Cash Advance America. The caller claims that the consumer owes debt for a 2007 payday loan, but refuses to provide any details about the debt. The consumer states that he did not take out any payday loans in 2007.

Two other consumers received phone calls from people claiming to represent Cash Advance America and Advance America Payday Loans where the callers offered loans in exchange for an upfront fee. Although one consumer had never applied for a payday loan, the callers insisted that they were calling to discuss her online application for a payday loan. The other consumer reports that, when she refused to wire money to the caller, the caller threatened legal action against her.

This guy named Brad called my number and left a threatening message that if I didnt call back or if my attorney didnt call back he wishes me good luck...I mean, really??

Received call from bob at this number - very threatening.... Office phone and said do not ignore his call and call back today!  Never used payday loan but have employee who had.  Scam but freaks me out every time he calls.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I have been getting calls from this number also.  I am elderly and live alone and these people need to get a real job instead of calling and threatening people.  I have nothing against foreign people or black or white but if this is all they have to do for kicks they need to get a job and let the people that are trying to make a real living alone.

Yup, just received the same call from Brad which was recorded and his voice was very scary and again just like everyone has stated threatened at the end saying if he doesn't hear back from the office or from our lawyer, he wished us luck.  

Was freaked out until I found these same post so now not too freaked out but it was still scary!

Received voice mail message from a Brad at (315) 282-5842. Stated not disregard this call. Have my attorney call or myself immediately. Only thing he can do is to wish me good luck. This sounds like a call with a threat

This guy can shove this phone message up his *** and stop bothering people. Scan artists are clever and like scaring people. I dont believe a word of it, beside wouldnt a real attorney send paperwork with some sort of summons? Block the call and be glad youll never hear from this moron again.

Just received this call.  Knew it was a scam as I don't have any outstanding debts with anyone, much less a payday loan.   However, as everyone states... he is very official sounding information. He had a lot of my information including name, address, employer.   As others have stated...do NOT give them any information or payment and report them as soon as you can.  The first voicemail was from Brad.  The 2nd call I took (from my work line) I spoke with a Ron Baxter.

Sheriff's Office, Criminal Investigations Division, received the same message.  This is a scam.  DO NOT CALL!!!!!!!!!  There may be a fee charged to your phone for the call.  Inv. R.K. McClelland (540)843-3304.

I have got this calls all day and its the same thing as all of  the above. But they did scare me and I paid the 300.00 DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE i DID.

I called him back and asked him the persons name he was looking for (it was me). But I told him that there was nobody at this number by that name. He has never called back. I do not owe anybody anything.    I do admit, he has a very stern voice.

I just received a voicemail from this Brad guy claiming I needed to call him or my attorney. He didn't leave a company name, he didn't say who he was looking for etc. Since there are so many posts here I believe its a scam. I read about payday loans and I have never taken out a payday loan and have perfect credit and pay all my bills. He is calling our work phone and the call could be for anyone. I called and its a voicemail. Clearly its a scam.

I get these calls daily at work; at home and I reported have reported them to an attorney.  The attorney believe it is a scam. I want the calls to stop, it is making me sick.  The message is the same as the others have stated.  I just want peace of mine.

I just received 4 calls back to back from this automated, scary foreigner. His name is Brad and says (very threateningly) that I or my attorney needs to give him a call back or he'll issue attack? What kind of mess is this and how can I block these calls?

Just received a similar call wIth the same script that his name is brad and he wants to hear from me or my lawyer. I trIed to call back and it goes to a voicemail. I had Similar call couple weeks ago telling me the time they were allowed to collect my vandelier debt was past due, and they would take me to court. When I said I don't owe such a debt, he hang up on me. I hope they would take me to court do that they would end up paying a court fee for harassing me...
