Big time scammers. Group out of Texas doing the same thing. Best thing to do is to report it to local law enforcement as attempted identity theft. Protects you somewhat. The reason they are so persistent is that some poeple feel threatened enought to cave.

Received a similar call to those above, left me a voicemail saying a case had been open against a family member and that they desperately needed to get in touch with them. I never called back. I received a call from 315-410-2088 as well, I'm assuming the same people but they didn't leave a message from that number.

Ignore. They called me today, leaving a message for someone else saying she had been notified of legal action against her in Newberry County (never set foot in that county). I called back to tell him he had the wrong number, he then used my name so I told him that wasn't me because I'd heard about companies who do buy up old debts and threaten people for the money (I have a "debt" with Alltel that's been in dispute for years). I looked up the number and sure enough, that's what these people are. They're the ones you see on Dateline.

I got a call from a guy named Chandler Murphy saying that he had a legal case against me and would be doing a wage assignment.  He said I should call him to see what options are available to me.  He never said the name of his company - just that it was a legal case.  I did have identity theft recently where someone opened 9 online pay day loans using my information.  I suspect this is related to that.  My inclination is to ignore the call.  Any advise would be appreicated.

A guy that says his name is Kevin something states his "firm" has a summons for me and that my wages will be garnished. He never says the firm name but leaves a phone # and ends the message with you have been notified. I do not owe anyone and I am not past due on anything. It's a big scam. This person has also called my 76 yr old grandmother harassing her with message for me to call.
