I received a voice mail instructing me to call this number (315-410-8426).  It simply said "Call (phone #). You have been notified."  No names or distinguishing characteristics to let me know anything was legitimate about them.  The number that called me was 585-278-1983.  Now I'm not saying that it was Goldberg & Maxwell but I did receive a call from someone 3 weeks before that was a little difficult to understand.  But I did make out the "Goldberg and" towards the end of the message.  Who really has time for all this???

Same message left for us, except ending said, "You have been warned." Disconnected when try to call back. Will block them from now on.

Left a message on our machine saying same but never said who call was for. Also ended with "You have been warned." Try calling back and number was disconnected.

When I call the number back, it states disconnected.

Scammers calling to call them back immediately..  Called back..You are right...  They were very rude....  and wanted to my phone number .  When I refused to give it to them they said they could not help me.

THEY STATED THEY WERE " NATIONAL CHECK REGISTRY"

They can't do that, if they call back make them send you proof in writing and if they ask for your address tell them if you have my number you have my address, I guarantee you will not get one piece of mail sent to you. Do not answer any questions save the number in your phone as ignore and let it go to vm.

RCVD CALL THREATENING LEGAL ACTION/ EITHER CIVIL TO GARNISH WAGES OR FOR A FELONY FROM AN UNPAID PAYDAY ONLINE LOAN I OBTAINED IN 2009. CAN THEY REALLY CHARGE YOU WITH A CRIME? WANTED A $35 PROCESSING FEE WITHIN 2 DAYS. SUGGESTED I PAY THEM WITH A PREPAID CREDIT CARD SO I WOULD HAVE A PAPER TRAIL. WHAT DO I DO

This is a scam don't answer.  Said it was an important matter.

They claim to know my checking acct and where I live, They also say I can speak to a lawyer who they have in their dept/ They claimed to be from the National Check Registry and that the crime they say I commited was a class B miseminer and a class D felony and my court date will be set for sometime in Oct 2012. I did not commite any crime nor do I owe any online payday advance company.These people are very convincing.I feel sorry for someone who gives them their credit card number to pay the amount they say you owe..They told me $2767.00 but theyd settle for $525.00... Im sure they would but Im not paying a stranger over the phone for something I have no idea what for !

Man called our home phone asking for our son, stating he had an outstanding balance on a $3000 note and he wanted their money.  Stated he had called son's bank/credit union and they said he account was closed.  Then stated he would settle this for $350 if we would may now.  when told "no" he got angry and stated he was going to file civil litigation.  #1 clue was he was using son's address from 2 years ago.  #2 was he wanted immediate $ to settle the account.  Son called his bank and they said it's a scam and happens all the time.   Why can't these people be stopped?????!!!!!

I have received weekly phone calls for several years from 315.410.8426.   They indicate they're a legal representative hired to pursue chages against Judith *****(last  name similar to family name).  I have tried and tried to tell them no one is at this addrses.   They keep calling and leaving messages.

I have been getting phone calls from this number for several months.  When I call back they do not give the company name so I just hang up.  Now they are leaving threatening messages on my answering machine.  I'm reporting the numbers to the FCC.

I looked up Goldberg and Maxwell and their are a collections agency from Buffalo NY...Naturally they have an F rating with the BBB.

This company calls constantly. I owe nobody nothing and they obviously got the wrong person. Their number is 315-410-8426 and they are aopparently called Goldberg Maxwell Law Firm.

Had our business number on auto dialer.  Called back and asked to be removed from auto dialer.  Very rude, threatening, argumentative. Said they can call anyone, anywhere and they are way bigger than just debt collectors.  Very rude and nasty.

Same company Goldberg Maxwell or something keeps harassing me also. I have notified the FTC and they are sending out information about this company being scammers! DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY!!!!!!!!!

they are currently going under the business name Department of national check registry--the caller was threatening,rude,argumentative and refuswed to provide information I requested such as name and address of original creditor as I have never taken out any sort of personal loan either in person or online--the callers name was Jennifer Byman ans she stated she was a pre-litigation officer working for the attorneys and if I did not make a payment in the 19 minutes I would be sued for the alligations of which she was investigating THIS IS A HUGE SCAM.

I called this phone number back on my cell phone; a gal answered the phone but did not say what company she was with; I asked her what business this was and she said National Check Registry.  When I asked her where they were located, she said WI; I said that area code 315 is not located in WI; she said that we have offices all over the country and that dialer transferred me to the WI branch.  I did not belive her since the phone number is located in NY.  She said that she would transfer me to the legal department handling my case, but she never asked for my name or case # or anything.  I was on hold and then someone else came on the line; she went on to inform me that there is a check fraud case against me for taking out a payday loan online with a company name that I have never heard of, B&G Capital in April of 2010 that was never repaid, but she could not provide me with the exact date, nor did she give me a dollar amount or anything else.  I told her that I had never heard of this company so unless she could provide me with exact information I did not agree to anything.  I told her that I should have received something in mail or via e-mail if I owed anyone money, and I have never heard of the company nor received any information on them.  She hung up during my conversation.  When I went to check online the company name under the BBB, there is a collection company by this name with a different phone number 1-877-350-1514 located in Buffalo, NY.  They have an F rating for numerous reasons. I am ignoring their phone calls from now on.

I received another phone call today at work- the phone call came from 1-585-278-1983, but they said that there is a case in their office against me and to call 1-315-410-8426.  I don't know what this is regarding.  Why don't they call from the phone number that they tell you to call back on?  I am not returning the call.

I received a phone call today from this very same phone number at my work phone # at my desk; it was a recorded message that #1 did not identify who the caller was but that there was fradulent activity on my checking account, and I was to press #1 to hear the details.  I immediately was suspect of this call and hung up.  I have not received a call back from this number or anyone from my bank stating that they are concerned of fraud.  I contacted someone at the bank, and they transferred me over to their Visa Fraud Department.  I spoke with someone there, and read off my card #, and they did not have an open case in my name or card #; they said that their department had not contacted me.  They told me to call the main phone number back at the bank and notify someone of this scam call.  I did that, and I have reported the issue to alert my bank.  I don't understand why someone would do this or make these sorts of calls.  The company that the other person mentions in their reply was not even mentioned on my phone call recording.  I thankfully did not respond to the call, and if they call back again.  I won't answer it.  This is very frustrating that people are doing this.

Sounded professional; however, would not give me nature of call nor confirm their name.  Insisted on knowing if my name was____________. When I asked the call his name and nature of call, he only stated it was Goldberg and Maxwell.  He asked if I was ______.  I would not oblige my name, and insisted to know nature of his call to me as I was at work.  He would not tell me.  As advised by my lawyer, if person cannot identify themselves nor submit info in writing, not obligated.  It's against the law for debt collectors or loan sharks to contact you at work, cell or otherwise.  I hung up after saying "you have the wrong number".  I have no time for nonsense.

they are absolutely scammers.  i received a call today...automated message: "...fraudulent activity on your account...press 1 to speak with someone".  Pressed 1 knowing this was likely a scammer or some lying collector with bad information.  "Mr. Riley's office...can you hold please?"  I think she's new.  "I'm sorry, Mr. Riley is busy.  Did you receive a call from us?"  Yes, I did...repeated message.  "Oh, let me transfer you over to my desk...I can help with that.  Hmmm...how do I transfer?"

She transfers and tells me that they do investigations for fraudulent bank activity.  The then wanted to get my information.  I told her that any time I've had an issue, my bank calls me...and then I asked for HER company's name and some information to validate their work.  She immediately got mad and told me to call back when I'm ready to cooperate.

So, I called the number back to goad them a bit more.  Different person answered...asked if I was calling from the number she had on Caller ID...I said yes.  While she was looking up my number, I asked what company she was with...something like Goldberg and Wiseman (or Wineberg, who knows).  She asked if I was someone...had the wrong person.  Definitely collectors...

Same here - Also something of BNG Cash advance -- No such thing! Harrassing me and stating that they will be fiiling papers to appear in court and I stated go ahead. Someone by the name Michael from Goldberg & wisberg.. and there is no such thing. I told him to send me all the documents to have attorney review and started asking me other information that does not concern him and I hung up
