SCAM ARTISTS ALERT

This guy, with a super extra thick indian accent, calling himself ''Roger Smith'' telling me he's from Microsoft and trying to make me believe that my computer has downloaded suspicious virus ''o.k.'' and dangerous program ''o.k.''.
Call display shows ''V07050208020046'' as name with Unknown number. SERIOUSLY...
I ask for his name and phone number and he again, gives me Roger Smith 001-949-407-7028
I said I'd call him back..... As if.

I had exactly the same experience. Shawn Watson was calling me on May 5th, 2013 and he told me that my computer has serious problems as it is infected by a virus and it was about to crash. His telephone number was given as +1 949 407-7028.He remotely took over my Computer to demonstrate litterally thousands of errors and internal problems. He told me that the reason für my problems is that my computer is not protected in the right way against a virus. He offered me to repair my computer and he suggested to buy a package from Microsoft like Platinium Plan (Life Time Software/Service Warranty) at a Price of ? 300,00. With such a package no problems will occur in the future. I bought this package and certainly I had to release my Banking Details.I hope that he will not use my data to steel money from my banking account.  I have to confess that my Computer indeed had a problem. The PC became slower and slower. Shawn Watson repaired my PC. One day later I have given him a phone call to finalize the repair in my PC. I could reach him under the above phone number. He finalized the repair of my PC which is running well now. When I effected Paymet I was surprised that the recipee of the money was a private person in India. I was confused about tis fact but Shawn Watson explained to me that they are using the difference value of a hard currency and a soft currency country. Today (May May 10th, 2013) Union Bank, which was involved in the Transfer of Money, have given me a phone call and they told me that anything is wrong with this payment and they suggested to cancel the transfer instrcutions to which I did agree. Furthermotre they suggested to contact an expert in Germany to doublecheck whether some sensitive data has been stolen from my PC. I am now afraid that the whole activities have been a fake and that everything was done only to get access to my Computer datas. Can anybody help me and suggest me what I should do.

I WAS SCAMMED by  these people in Feb 2012 --Got on my computer--Said it had loads of faults etc---Took bank details----Took £39 for 3 months cover of security---Its all rubbish, its a SCAM !---DON'T GO THERE. I had to change  all my bank details, & get my laptop cleaned up,- expensive & so much aggro. I have now been getting calls from the same people for the last 3 months, claiming they are going to give me a refund of last years payment ---I said send me a Cheque, or an e-mail printable form, to send back to them. He said they cannot do it that way----Do it by Pressing Windows & R buttons together--Which i refused---( it opens a box to type in something for windows to find for you) -- Which is how they get on your computer---ALL BAD DON'T DO SO !   They are trying to get more personal info & or money--He said his name was Harry Watson (sounded Indian ) from an address in London, with a phone number-- 1800 117772-- ( i have been told maybe USA number, like UK's 0800 freephone number ). Watch out for the call backs, they are trying to do it again, because they got last time. I contacted the Police fraud office again about this new effort by them.

Got a call from a Shawn Watson saying he was a Senior Tech for Microsystem Technologies and that my computer had serious problems errors and hacks that showed it was about to crash. He remotely took over my computer to demonstrate literally thousands of errors and internal problems.  His telephone number was given as 949-390-9699.  I told him that I would have my computer consultant call him back.  I called and the line went dead.  I tried to call back a second time and the number did not work.  I went onto Google and looked up his company and saw that this was a scam.  He originally said that his company was a separate company working to help Microsoft with internal problems caused by hackers.  Hope they catch this Jerk.

Hi, I got the same scam, same number, same name, the tchnician is now David Smith. I broke the connection once they tried to coax me to open my banking site after 'ignorantly' opening innocent sites. I wonder if they tried to install anything?

i couldn't discover anything after executing a system restore.

I had a phone call from an Indian guy called 'Steve' who said that he was working on behalf of Windows for a company called Micro Systems Tech. He said the same that they had detected viruses on my computer that could lead to someone using my information fraudulently. He also asked me to press the windows button + R together. Then he asked me to put 'eventvwr' in the box that appeared. All these errors appeared in red and he told me this was very bad! He then said he would pass me on to the Tech team who would guide me through a 'cleaning up' process. I then became suspicious so asked for his number to call him back. The number he gave was 01414 162694 - the number does connect but he just answers 'hello'. The number and the company are not listed on google either so made me more suspicious. My IT colleague said it is a scam to download card readers etc onto your computer and therefore gain a back door into your personal information !! Please be aware!

I ask im to send me a email on the way to correct the problem... He just give me is phone number and say to me that no local support could fixe the problem... and he cut the line.

Had some calls from this number also.

Caller identified himself on the third call as Mark Smith of Micro System Tech and had a strong Asian accent.

He said that my router had notified them of a problem on my computer which was making it run slower and slower and that he could help me fix it.  Had some difficulty understanding him, but it sounded like he wanted me to press Ctrl R on my keyboard.  At that point I explained that I was busy and would call him back.

I'm more than a little suspicious of this call and will not return it.

Called twice. Said he was calling on behalf of Windows, I asked which company, he said he worked for Micro Systems Tech. and that my computor had sent out information to him indicating that I had a virus, and he was calling to help me. i said my PC was working properly and that i had upto date virus protection, he said not all virus protection software could detect all viruses. He wanted me to turn on my PC and he would show me where the problem was.

I asked where he was calling from, he said he was calling from Kent... I asked what country? He said the UK, however he had a Caribean accent. After more questionning he eventually hung up.

15 minutes later,  Calls again, same pitch, I said I didn't beleive he was legit, I aksed what # he was callin from he said 315 63 60916. then he hung up. My caller id showed unknown # both times.
