I was scammed by the Contentproz.su copycat site. Wrote the test article and was accepted. Sent 6 articles and then communication was cut off.

Just received the Articlebat.org email. Here is my reply:

Hello Alison,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I would like to clarify a few items before I decide to make a commitment to this project.

1. I sent you a sample of my writing with my application, which should be sufficient for you to assess my skills.
2. I do not submit work unless I get paid PER ARTICLE.
3. I only accept payment through PAYPAL.

I have been down this road before. I submitted 7 articles to a similar website and then all communication was cut off.

I was never paid for my work and had no recourse, only to discover later that it was a scam.

I am a high quality SEO writer and can easily write 3 articles per day. However, I will not agree to being paid monthly.

If you accept my terms you will make a nominal payment to my PAYPAL account ($10.00) to confirm that I will actually be paid for my time and effort. Then I will expect to be paid for each group of articles I submit. Each time you send a payment, I submit additional articles.

Just a note to all: No one can request a payment from your PAYPAL account without your approval. If your PAYPAL account is attached to a bank account the bank will not transfer funds into your PAYPAL account without your confirmation. If your PAYPAL account is attached to a credit card, you can file a fraud claim. PAYPAL is very secure

I have no money in my PAYPAL account, so there is nothing they can get anyway.

I actually found their site online and sent them my resume and applied thinking it was legit. I did the test too and then I received the follow up email asking for my paypal account. I don't even use paypal to begin with so I asked if they would mail me a check instead. I also asked for a contract too. It's funny how right away they ask for three articles (mine were on coconut oil) and a paypal account without even going over a contract or at least having one. Total scam.

I got the same email I went ahead and did the first assignment in hopes that it maybe the real deal. . Fortunately the only loss is wasting 4 hrs of my time. But after doing a lot of checking afterwards it made it too good to be true.

I wonder if they even realize that those key phrases are nearly identical? My practice article was supposed to be about CNA classes and your regular articles were all about student loans... maybe they're using the money they scammed from people who gave their Paypal info to go to school? Yeah... I don't think so either.

Before you read further, I don't plan on completing the project.  I have read enough over the past 30 minutes to stay away.  I don't need my paypal account compromised. Her/his phone number is included in her/his email response.

If you wouldn't mind sending information about the reply to admin@articlebat.com when you receive it?  I am in the process of compiling all of the information I can about this fellow and writing up a blog post on Articlebat.com to warn others about this.  By the way, don't give him any PayPal info.  I have an email from someone who did and had their account 'drained'.

Just to be clear, there is no one named Alison Smith or Kate Smith or anything Smith at Articlebat, and there are, unfortunately, no job openings at the moment.

As the owner of Articlebat.COM, whose site this person has completely copied except to add a capture page for personal information of people applying for jobs, I have received several reports of this person impersonating my company in order to gain access to people's PayPal and other information.  Obviously, don't give any information to him/her and always be aware of the security of your connection before giving any sensitive information.  I have identified the person who has registered the copy of my website and taking all actions to have the copy site taken down, but this will do little to prevent him from starting another one.  As always, be careful who you trust online.  Don't be afraid to ask questions if something seems fishy.

Can you post on this site what happens with  this please? I am in the same position but haven't written the test article yet and I'm wondering if I should even bother. The key phrases for my article are: 1) cna classes in illinois 2) cna classes in richmond va 3) cna classes. I wonder if yours were the same or similar?

The biggest red flags for me were all the obvious typos on the original email, the website that I sent my resume through and now this email from Alison Smith. If this company hires writers shouldn't they at least know how to use Spell Check? Or to capitalize the names of cities and states?

But despite all of this I want it to be true so that is why I haven't completely dismissed it and I would like to know what happens with you.

Thank you,
Linzee6394

Found your blog on 800notes.com after searching for the same Alison Smith (although Sp slightly diff.) in conjunction with an e-mail I received offering me a writing position with ArticleBat. Usually, most of these offers are scams and are most often related to mailing/re-mailing services or, Secret Shopper types of roles. In this case, it appeared somewhat legit, so I wrote my first "test" article this date. I will now see the type of reply I receive. If you would like to be informed of the response, let me know.

I do appreciate your making the effort to add your blog to 800notes.com as I found it very helpful. I had lost my job several years ago which demanded a good deal of writing ability so I thought this "offer" to be somewhat opportunistic.

Should I hear from "Ms. Smith", I intend to request a legit company name, address, and phone number before I proceed. Also, I will ask that all payments be provided via a company check directly to my home address. Those will be my terms; we'll see. I was also contemplating asking for a retainer in a nominal amount.

Same here, except she claims to be Allison Smith from Articlebat.org. I was "hired" to write for Groupon after completing a test article. She needs my PayPal account info to pay me... Hmmm. Start right away... yet no 1099 form or even a mention of it.

The red flag for me was the congratulations email I received that was not addressed to me by name, but rather the letters that were the beginning of my email addy.

Glad to see there was another person who (fill in the blank) Smith sent a scam email to.

This person "Kate Smith" claims to be working with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation with the director "Joe Thompson". The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has never heard of them. She claims to be hiring professional writers to produce articles for websites. They want access to your Pay Pal account and drain it dry. They take your articles and publish them as their own. THIS IS A SCAM! Don't fall for it. Below are the URLs and emails associated with this scam:
