855 is a toll-free number like 1-800, 877, 888, etc. They could be calling from anywhere in the world.
Chances are you owe money to somebody and these annoying calls are in an attempt to locate you so they can forward court 'paperwork' for you to appear in court.   They are not cop-related, but will leave messages with anybody who answers or on voicemail, telling the world that you have a 'warrant summons' which is not the same as an arrest warrant. Most people don't know the difference and will assume you have a warrant out for your arrest and some of your relations/friends etc may actually call these people back thinking they're doing a good deed and 'turning you a*** in to the cops'. They will call in-laws, relatives, neighbors, -anybody with your last name or similar SS# or an old neighbor perhaps in the neighborhood you used to live in. They might call any references you used on a mortgage, car or school loan. They will call them at work, at home on their cell phone and they will leave a message to call them back within 24-48 hours with your employment or unemployment info. They're highly annoying and I wonder if what they're doing is legal.

my stepson in another state got a call from this 585-645-0061 number stating they were a major law firm and asking for me - stating they needed me to call right away so I wouldn't get sued and that they are going to do something to the effect of "count in forces.:"   hahahahahahah - the jokes on them -  I'm a fed and will see to it they are nailed to the wall -do not answer this number or speak with anyone from this number - they are using fraudulent company names; names that don't really exist and addresses that are fabooshed or belong to a local UPS store

Are you taking notes so you can do better at scamming people? I do not have any unpaid bills, paid everything off 6 months ago but I still received one of these calls. Better learn the law of the states you are calling people in or you might find yourself in court. Atleast you have gotten better at replying to these people and don't sound like a ghetto thug. All I can say is karma is a bi*** and you and your low life co workers will get yours. Have a nice day!

Don't give these people a dime. Report them. Make them show paper documents. Let them take you to court if they say they have a legitimate claim. They won't. Don't let them scare you with the threat of taking you to court. You can't go to jail for an unpaid bill. Watch them come on here and post their replies, they are low life's and see if I don't collect enough information from people they have harassed and start a class action lawsuit against them. You can tell they aren't professional by the illiterate way they talk.

Did you ever think that we are speaking to debt collectors to pay off our debts.   Dumb a**! Use your head of course we owe money that's the friggin' point.  You are the dumbest person alive!

All this drama. Just pay your bills if you owe money. You want to get loans and credit but don't want to pay. Send them $10 a month. They will accept it and eventually you will be finished and feel better. Get on with life and don't borrow money it will choke you to death.

Call the new York attorney general's office and make complaint.  http://www.ag.ny.gov/complaint-forms They use the law offices of MRD but they never sue accounts. They are a fraud do not pay this company. Consumer alert this is a fraudulent company file a complaint.

I recieved a few calls from Thomas and Asoociates .PHONE NUMBER 1-855-229-8030. They told me that I was being sued for malicious intent for writing a bad check for a paydayloan.They also told me that I was going to be served  a subpeona by a proccess server.I gave him a credit card number  so he could have it on file for withdrawing funds on the 30th of April or either pay 100.00 on the 1st of each month for 750.00.

He JT scam b*****ds,  you dont get PROSECUTED for debt, it WOULD be a civil offense, ie you get sued but not PROSECUTED.  STOP trying to scare people into paying debts they DO NOT OWE.  Your mother must be really proud that you are a bottom feeder scum bag.

People, these Scum Bags are professional scam artists.  They also try  to "collect" from the name MRD Associates, oddly at the SAME UPS mailbox.  Report them to the BBB, FTC and the DA's office.  They wont stop their illegal scam until they are put behind bars.

The statue of limitations depends on your state.   This company is a scam so you most likely do not owe this debt, atleast not to this company.  Always ask for debt validation.  My guess is they will tell you they don't need to provide it(illegal) because they don't legally own the debt.

This company was calling me about a month ago using the same illegal scare tactics.  I filed a complaint with my states attorney general and the calls ceased.

This is company is nothing more than a bottomfeeder collection agency that uses scare tactics to dupe people into sending them money regarding a debt that the company does not own.  No legitamate collection agency or law firm would call you first without every sending any notification in the mail.

Always ask for debt validation which by law they have to provide.  In fact they are supposed to send you debt validation in 5 business days upon first contact.

I love it when people who work for these bottom feeder scumbag illigal collection agencies post comments on here.  All it does is prove how much of a fraud this collection agency is.  A real collection agency would NEVER bother to post responses on a public website telling people to pay their bills.

received several calls from jtkeller-stated it ws an old pay day loan.threatened with taking me to court if i didn't take case of this asap. contacted an attorney and they stated to not speak to them at all,contact them in writing only and ask for the verificartion of loan purchase in writing.they won't stop calling me. what do i do?????

It is JT Keller and Associates claiming to be lawyers and having a lawsuit filed and what not. The number 855 229 8030 doesn't even mention JT Keller and associates. They even gave me an extension to dial which you can't do after dialing that number. I have verified that their address is in fact for a  UPS store mailbox. Everyone has debts but it;s going to be suspicious when you go after references and not even send out a collection notice from your place of business. Their website is poorly made with numerous typos and VERY little information about who they are. They are not BBB accredited which isn't a requirement but if you want to be legit, business will be BBB accredited. There are complaints already with the FTC and BBB. As a side note, they got their domain name from godaddy.com. I found that out at the bottom of their page. They also have testimonials from the "clients" they helped but being a business serving other businesses, it's hard to find legitimacy in them. Also, if you're going to be sued, the debt will have already be in the offices of a lawyer, a legit one and not some collection company masking itself as a law firm. They even disclose the illegal ways they can get to you, for example, they apparently have a means to go past you and federal laws into your bank accounts to see how much you are worth, in essence how much they can get from you. Intense follow-up= Harassment, just a prettier way to say it. Invasion of privacy among other things. Everyone that has this happening to them, just breathe. Nothing is legit about them, they have broken laws. Again, the thing that stands out is that their number doesn't even state the business and their address is a mailbox at a UPS Store..BBB and FTC have complaints already from me...

Got a call from a friend that Thomas somebody had left a message for me.  The message said she should get in contact with me immediately as she had been listed as a reference in this matter,  He told her he had all the information that he needed for prosecution and he gave her a reference number along with his phone number.  After I have read all this information I will call them back and ask for the validation of debt as well as what debt to which he is referring.  I have never applied for an onling loan of any kind.  How and where they got their information concerns me most.  I plan to research and file charges if necessary.  I am also willing to join any class action suit available.

I have been contact by this company  and threatened to be taken to court and etc,.  They told me it stem from something in 2005.  Can they do this and what is the statue of limitations for this?

I received a call from them then the next day another message saying i would be arrested! i am so confused? can this be someone trying to scam me? i owe on one payday loan but i was laid off for almost a year so obviously i couldn't pay it back. but i don't think this is the right lender. its so confusing.
