Unfortunately, the DMV and Verizon sells your name to virtually every mailing list on the planet when you update your license or get a new phone. These are Energy Resellers - they try to get you to have them bill you for your energy because they can supposedly due it cheaper.

Problems - if you have a power outage - there's no one there to give you assistance. If you have brown outs, power surges or low voltage, again - no support from these 3rd party resellers.

It's a Con alright - but not from Con Edison (haha) Be careful if you give your name, address and phone number they've been known to put in a request for change without your approval. Give an email address and ask that no more phone contacts for their service.

I have been receiving daily calls from 315-677-6188.  When I attempted to call the number back to see where it was coming from, the number rang, and then went silent after it picked upl. -- These calls are continuous.

I have been receiving calls from this telephone number several times a week, and I have allowed my answering machine to take the call --- the moment that my answering machine begins to say "There is no one at home at the present time, please leave a message ..." they hang up.  I called them back using my computer telephone system and told this place that if they ever called my home telephone number again, I would report them to the New York State Public Service Commission ... they asked if
the (760) telephone number that I was calling from was in fact a (718) telephone number and when I responded that it was, I was told that this company ONLY calls telephone numbers in the (718) area
code and that they didn't want to get into trouble with the New York State Public Service Commission, so they would NEVER call my home telephone number again.
 I have, in the meantime, reported this company to the New York State Public Service Commission anyway.
 They are being investigated ......

Initially the guy claimed that he worked for ConEd and wanted to help lower my electricity bill by 20%. When I pressed for more info, said he didn't actually work for ConEd but Oasis Energy and tried to get me to switch to Oasis Energy. Very shady. Doesn't offer any explanation of how it works. Told me if I agree to switch, I'd have (only) 3 days to cancel without a fine if I change my mind. Ridiculous and very shady. I had to hang up because the marketer kept on talking and talking and talking while pressuring me to agree to switch.

This person keeps calling and doesn't talk if I answer.

I get calls from this number, but I do not answer and they do not leave a message

I also received a call from this exact number and they said they want to speak with the person responsible for electricity bill payment. The guy sounded spanish and was not at all professional. They confirmed my name and address and then said that they are calling from PECO energy ( my energy provider in Norristown, PA) and they have a special promotion going on and need to confirm my account number. Initially I was about to provide him the number but then I felt uncomfortable and asked him if he can send me a mail with all the information and then I will proceed. That guy then just abruptly hung up. Sure it is some scam.

They just call and hang.  I figure that I just switched from Comcast to Verizon so they think I am new.

1st off the most legit esco company in the U.S is Oasis Energy i had other escos before and all they would do is charge double , and a recall this was in Texas and New York. I made my decision when moving to NY for last time and my brother told my about Oasis Energy , never saved money in anything else like Oasis so do your research and contact then 315-677-6188..

they not from con ed they are an approved supplier in the power your way program which allows the clients to choose one esco to supply the electricity i did a recordin and i got everything in writing then i had 3 days to make up my mind read over it and if i saw sumthing i didnt like they gave me a number to call and cancel the program. i called beacuse i didnt like the cancellation fee so i called and they gave me a cancellation number but i got a friend that sign up and he told me that hes actually savin money so im thinkin on callim them to make them my esco

you must be some kind of dummy since you actuly have to do a 3 min recording with them.

and in the recording tells you exactly what your getting into.

and the name oasis energy is mentioned thru out the whole recording and since this is being recorded the agent has to say hes callin from oasis...

I just got a call from this number.  Didn't answer.  But people on this thread are reporting this call is from ConEd -- which is very odd, because 315 is the area code for Central New York (e.g., Syracuse), and I thought that ConEd was located only here in NYC and its surrounding counties (NiMo / National Power Grid, and not ConEd, is the supplier up in Syracuse).  Thus, why would someone from ConEd be calling from the Syracuse area?  So I don't know what this is, but if it's a scam, it's a rather confusing/lame one.

Its a hugh scam. They get you into a 2 year contract and overcharge you for the same services you were getting from ConED. They ask to "verify" your account number...and once they have that...they switch you without permission or authority, and its such a hassle to get out of it. BEWARE and BE CAREFUL

i got a call from this number. the number is oasis energy. they basically provide you with cheaper electric and gas for con ed customers. the business is not a better business bureau.

never leaves a measage. know no one in ny currently. this is pennsylvania.

got a call from this number today. no one talked & then they hung up after a few minutes. after looking them up & realizing it was a telemarketer, i promptly added them to my blacklist on ooma, so they will get a disconnected # message if they call again & my phone won't even ring!

THEY are not from con ed, becase they call me everyday on my home phone, and con ed don't have my home phone... don't give any information to them guys!!!

When I answer the phone, no one is on the line. VERY annoying.  Finally stayed on the line and got a human being.  Told him to remove my number from his call list because the calls were very annoying and I would never do business with such an annoying company.  Never heard from them again!

I just got a call from this number.  A female stated , in Spanish and unprofessionally, that she was calling from Con Edison and wanted to speak to the person who receives the bill.  I replied in English that the number she is calling from is not a Con Ed number, and she hung up.

We picked up the call and they claimed to be Con Edison, but I'm not so sure as they were very rude and kept asking for the wrong name.

This person keeps calling from (315) 677-6188 everynight and when I pick up the phone no one is on the other end.  I would like to know who this phone number belongs to.  On the caller ID is says La Fayette.
